Get rid of your landline phone for majic jack? NO
I have one, it's a great inexpensive tool to make long distance calls with no charges within North America ($20 per yr for the service, unlimited calls)
IT does have its problems tho, a it flakey, sometimes get cut off, intermittent service etc. Also , from what I've read, stay with the US number, dont go throught the resellers & get a Canadina number at this time,,,

I agree dont get rid of your home phone. 90% of the time for me the connection isnt very clear. I had some IT problems as well. I was only able to get an american number so its good for outgoing not incoming.
At times the person at the other end could not hear me. Their help line could not assist me in this respect. So I returned my Magic Jack for a full refund including postage.
