I have one and have tested it extensively.
Strictly speaking the MagicJack does everything it is supposed to. My main finding was that the call quality was extremely dependent on your available upstream speed. I have 50K upstream guaranteed and even with that I had major voice quality problems. I could hear other callers fine, but my voice to them was often garbled beyond recognition. Increasing my upstream to 100K solved the voice problem. I also had call completion and dropped call issues 5% - 10% of the time regardless of upstream. The app needs to run on your PC constantly and in some cases is a resource hog. I might own a MagicJack for an occasional call, but not on a line I was going to depend on.
I dumped my MagicJack for an Ooma and I could not be happier. The Ooma is a stellar performer on the same circuit where the MagicJack failed. I've used it 8 months now and would never go back. Of course the Ooma costs $200 (one time), but it comes the closest to an analog of anything I've tried.
Good luck - KK
