Reminded me of a show I watched this weekend of a researcher studying the silver back gorillas. The dominat male walked right up to her and walked past within 12".....man.......
The lioness is thinking to herself "Does he have a gun? Yes...no...maybe...wouldn't he have pulled it out by now if he did? Hmmm...is there anything else good to eat around here? Nothing to the right...nothing to the left...okay, so... does he have a gun...or not?"
That is a very stupid - and very lucky - guy. There is a video on YouTube (I won't post it here because it's too graphic) from the mid-1970s of a man being killed and partially eaten by lions in front of his family because he got out of his car to try and film the lions.
There's also that video showing a male lion charging a group of hunters that shot but only wounded it... I can't imagine the state of their underwear after that near-death experience.
The clip is part of a show filmed and shown on the National Geographic Channel. I remember thinking the same thing (balls of steele) when I watched it last year. The guy spent a long time trying to get close to the lions while the camera man and a sharp shooter were in the truck behind him. Guess they live for the thrill, one mistake and it's good bye Charlie.
