Manitoba's Kaitlyn Lawes captured the women's crown with a 7-6 victory over Saskatchewan's Stephanie McVicar.
The victory by Lawes and teammates Jenna Loder, Liz Peters and Sarah Wazney gave Manitoba its eighth Canadian junior women's title, and the first since fellow Winnipegger Kelly MacKenzie (now Kelly Scott) won it in 1995.
"It was an amazing game," Lawes told CBC Sports. "Those Saskatchewan girls sure gave us a run for our money. They played lights-out, and so did my team.
"We just stuck together. I love those girls so much."
