This thread raises an issue with me that I have grappled with in my short time hobbying (a year and a bit). I use TERB a lot to determine who I would like to meet next. I never stray far from the highly praised ladies, and therefore usually have a certain expectation of how things will unfold. In most cases everything goes as expected, which is to say I have a thoroughly enjoyable experience. In a few cases the opposite is true, which causes me to wonder why that would be the case. I understand the concept of YMMV and the notion of "clicking". The way I see it, I am who I am, and I act the same with everyone I meet. The variable here is that everyone I meet has their own personality that may or may not click with mine. So when I meet someone that is highly rated, and I have a history (albeit short) of usually being on the winning end of YMMV and clicking with everyone, I can't explain an encounter that ends up being somewhat disappointing. Just one of those things, I guess.
When that happens, which to date has only been 3-4 times, I can't help but think it's because of me. Or maybe she's just having an atypical off day. In either case, I tend not to write a review since I don't want to be less than positive about someone who has a loyal following and is highly rated if I can't really explain why I feel that way. This was the case with Mariah. There was nothing particularly wrong with our encounter, it just fell short of what I expected based on the praise expressed by others. This seems to be the experience shared by Hornynewbie as well. I'm not sure that I'll change my personal views about writing reviews like that, but I suppose there's two messages being reinforced here for me; one, my experience won't be the same as yours regardless of my track record and previous reviews, and two, I should try to find a way to write reviews on all experiences, not just the great ones.
