No sir. Humanitarian aid, employment, visiting relatives, etc... is fine. If proven, that you left the country to fight WITH ISIS, you will face charges. Fairly simple...and fair law in my view.
Not according to what I read. The only current exception was for fighting ISIS. Visiting relatives, employment, etc. would not exempt you. An argument could be made that humanitarian efforts are "fighting" ISIS, so that should be safe.

If the law simply was that if you were proven to be fighting for ISIS, you will be charged...that's fine. Isn't that already illegal? Isn't the treason?

But that's not what this new law would be. This new law would outright ban travel to the hotlisted countries and assume you're guilty of conspiring with terrorist organizations if you do. That's not fair at all.

Reading the rest of your posts in this thread, it's now clear you are simply trying to mislead people about Trudeau. Which makes me think: do you actually believe the misleading ads the Tories are running or are you simply emulating their methods?

he has, for a long time been weak on terror.
So how long has Trudeau been in a position to be 'weak on terror' ? Yet another item of unsubstantiated horse dung. The only statement I have heard from Trudeau was that we should have a Canadian approach to fighting ISIS instead of sticking our head up the US's ass and following their strategy. He also pointed out that Harper wanted to blindly follow the US into Iraq which was a costly debacle for the US.

Like father like son. Trudeau the Elder refused to fight the Nazis. Instead he preferred to wear a German helmet and ride around Jewish neighborhoods in Montreal during WW II.
I was not a fan of P.E.T. because of his arrogance (a trait shared by Harper) and his economics. (I do acknowledge that P.E.T. did do a lot for human rights) The story (minus the targeting Jewish communities) is true -it was a one night tasteless prank with a friend - but to paint Trudeau JR with his dad's brush is suggesting the offspring of convicted murderers should be executed since 'the apple never falls far from the tree'.

I don't know if I'll vote for him but I admit this relentless fear mongering campaign by Harper supporters puts me in the Trudeau defense not for his policies but just because I hate B.S. slinging.

I agree with you, though the only reason Justin is there is because of his name. He has been fast tracked by a crippled liberal party hoping the voters will go for it.

There is no doubt Harper has a lot to defend, but it has been done under brutal conditions that either the Liberals or NDP would have made worse. When I review the NDP and Liberal plans, they are simply pushing more taxes and lowering the bar on who is considered "rich". Harper is still the best choice... but people usually need to find out the hard way (see the provincial Liberals for a good example).

if you have been reading papers, listening to news, you will have understood the position put forth by Trudeau. After all, the left should at least understand what Trudeau is saying, if they are going to vote for him.

he has, for a long time been weak on terror. Go back and look at the evidence. And that is fine. You may be voting for him for many other reasons. (His hair for instance) But to just bash Harper, and fail to comprehend Trudeaus position, that being that Harper is removing rights of Canadian terrorists who want to travel and fight for ISIs, then you are not caught up on current events.
Weak on terror? Steven is the only one who hid in a closet.

As for being caught up on current events-. I read and listen to news programs. - I don't take the word of party hacks or make up quotes like yourself

It is likely Trudeaus position on terror (weakness) that will aid in him ending up third ( where he belongs) in the election.

I know it's hard to hear... But he is just not ready for the Big Stage.

This is a Harper fuckup.

Only rabid con backers like the OP will back this. To the rest of the country they will just question why Harper wants to tell them where they can travel.

No..my decision is my own. People, looking to take the ISIL philosophy, and travel to countries beheading people should be criminalized and appropriately prosecuted. Workers, vacations, humanitarian aid will not be criminalized.

how will they police it.....?? That's why we have CSIS, RCMP etc,., to investigate!

Trudeau now supporting a full influx of 'refugees' arguing all are welcome.

I say, let's try an do a little screening at the gate.

and perhaps balance the influx....oh I don't know....equal parts women and children.

I wonder if Trudeau the Younger feel the same way about allowing "sex tourism"? Would he say pedos have an unfettered right to travel to Philippines, Thailand, etc. to do their "stuff" overseas? Also, would Trudeau allow Canadians to travel abroad to torture and kill animals (like protected lions)?
if one is going to a country to do something which is legal both here and there, why should Harper stop them? Assuming everyone is a terrorist is ridiculous and who is Harper to say where the terrorist hotbeds are?... HE IS FAR FROM OBJECTIVE ON THAT FILE.

Nobody is assuming everyone is a terrorist.
Assuming none are is unbelievably naïve & irresponsible
If you think there are no ISIS sleepers in that mass of refugees you are stunned.

The PMs job is to safe guard Canadians
A wide open access policy like Justin is proposing is very risky will result in issues down the road.
Justin is trying to buy votes on the backs of these poor people while ignoring security concerns for our citizens.

I find it amusing(? not sure what word actually fits) that after saying in the debates that he'll make it harder for refugees and reduce access to support that they turn around and will be allowing refugees without ID and increasing the tax dollars they'll have access to.
