You are such a troll. The Canadian media, unlike say Fox in the US, does not attempt to set police. The CBC is reporting facts, as in a climate policy research gave their side of the story. The CBC/CTV did not change anything on their end.

As for Carney scrapping this, it isn't triggering to most adults. I do find it amusing that the right keep saying the left will be triggered when all it does to make them lose their shit is say something positive about DEI or Trans rights...y'all a bunch of snowflakes...

I am pretty sure I made my point with that your thread title is idiotic and incorrect. The "media" is not flip flopping. And, if you want my take, I say this: EVs are the future. The arbitrary deadline was probably unrealistic. But, I think more and more consumers will switch first to hybrid cars, then to all EV in the future. And, in the current economic state we're in, all ideas and past policies should be revisited. And, if you think that means the government is flip flopping, you just show the MAGAt/right-wing capacity for critical thinking, or the lack thereof....

the media is definitely flip flopping because it was always bad policy that hurt the industry but environmental issues where used as a shield to get it moving. Why is it now ok? because a Liberal is now backing away from it?

Editorial boards might put out opinions, but the CBC/National Post/Globe and Mail/CTV etc. Do not weigh in on things, one way or the other. They might have guests that speak on both sides. So, if a reporter accurately quotes someone who is now saying something different, it does NOT mean they are flip flopping. I understand critical thinking is tough, and we all know it isn't your strongest suit.

Now, as to the changes going on here, I cannot speak for others (though apparently you think you can???), but I am fine with this policy change because we are not living in the world we were a year ago...We live in one where MAGA and Mango Mussolini are threatening our sovereignty and blowing you the global economic order. So, policies that made perfect sense a year ago need to be reviewed. It is what adults do. They recognize things have changed, and work within this new understanding to put the country forward. Does that mean they change their entire ideology? No. Does that mean they postpone or delay important policies? Yes. It really doesn't mean they're flip flopping either. They are being pragmatic. Not dogmatic, which is something apparently the right-wing cannot shake...
