I tried. I gave her number a call at around 11:30 p.m. but she hung up after one ring. About 5 minutes later I received a text from her that said "hey". That was the first time I had ever received a text from an SP so I wasn't sure whether that was an invitation to call her, or answer with a text. I figured the safest bet was a text, so I sent one back asking whether it was too late and whether I could call her. No answer. Half an hour later. Still no answer. At this point, I start to worry that she might just decide to text me later once I've gone home and to bed. Last thing I need is to wake up to my wife asking about some mystery text. Oh God. Oh God. Panic. Can't breath. Walls closing in. What to do? So I dropped my phone down a sewer grate and picked a fight with a random stranger on the way home so I could explain the loss as a mugging. I don't think I overreacted. Hmmm... maybe I should total the car just in case.
