With Mexico currently being hit on both sides by "Stan" and "Otis" why doesn't anyone care? Now I know they are not strong storms, only Cat 1's, but if they were hitting both sides of Florida would anyone care? We were all a buzz when New Orleans and Texas were going to be ravaged but it seems like "we" could give three shits about Mexico. Nothing on TV. Top story on CNN was how Jessica Alba is embarrased by all the bikini pictures of her lately.

Do you really think USA/Americans would really care if Typhoon, Hurricanes or Cyclones was making landfall outside contitental United States?

But in all fairness they did report them in Florida and California local News/Newspaper

Why should we care? Most Mexicans are in the USA anyway. :p

Remember the Asian Tsunami? Plenty of media coverage and more importantly, donation$ for that.

They're Cat 1 storms in a foreign country. Even if they were hitting the US as Cat 1 storms, I don't think it would be a big news item. And I don't recall hurricane coverage in Florida being as intense as it was for NOLA. Last year, Florida was hammered by constant Cat 3/4 storms, but didn't suffer Katrina-type damage; the coverage didn't last too long for each storm.

And after all this hurricane stuff, I for one would much rather see Jessica Alba in a bikini!
