Of course there isn't, it is the only way it could work, but don't expect the basic service to be anywhere close to what you get today...if you have healthcare.danmand said:As I pointed out before, there is no inconsistency between having a universal health coverage and the rich having access to premium services.
But they would not have to stand in a queue. Be logical, please. How can the addition of basic minimal health care for 40 MM people to the 250MM that already have it result in large queues for everybody?frasier said:Of course there isn't, it is the only way it could work, but don't expect the basic service to be anywhere close to what you get today...if you have healthcare.
It is true that 40 MM don't have healthcare..but that leaves 250 MM who do....curious to see how they react once there have to stand in line just to see a doctor.
LOL!danmand said:But they would not have to stand in a queue. Be logical, please. How can the addition of basic minimal health care for 40 MM people to the 250MM that already have it result in large queues for everybody?
I'm sure you will let us know when you find the proof.frasier said:There is no proof he is alive..here is my two cents..if he would be alive don't you think he would have shown up on CNN and brag about it?
The last video was a montage of old clips.....IMHO I think he is dead.
The wole point of introducing national healthcare is, to get people of the private plans and let the goverment take over.....so effectively all 300 MM Americans will be on the national system...geez or do you believe that they will let the current system survive..it will be an all or nothing deal. Pus what would be the incentive for a private company to pay for healthcare if big brother is going to provide it.danmand said:But they would not have to stand in a queue. Be logical, please. I hope you are right, but I think the plan is to scrap the private system as a primary insurance provider in favor of a goverment system.bbking said:so far, with the exception of the Edwards plan ... ( i really don't count the little guy from Ohio with the knockout wife) most of the Dems seem to be proposing a system that combines private with public.
Health Care is a right for all not a privilege for those who can afford it. On top of that while Moore's film is over the top -- he does point out one major flaw in the capitalist approach to Health Care in the US and that's reducing it to a very non-personal approach - insurance companies have a legal obligation to their shareholders to max returns and as a result places an undue burden on those who are in what most likely is the worst crisis of their lives. In addition, the US leads the world in medication research, however the drugs produced are sold to the US market with markups that far exceed any rational number that would include research. In fact most new drugs recover R&D in less than 10 months upon issue. By purchasing drugs in bulk like Canadian Government does would reduce the costs to consumers.
You talk about the economics of private companies and the incentives to cover health care. I think you are looking at this wrong ... all the major economies that the US competes with have some form of public health care which has the benefits of lower employee costs. If health care in the US continues on it's rapid rise in costs it will put US companies at a major disadvantage.
I think most Americans on both sides of the aisle make a major mistake in trying to apply capitalism to health care. Remember your laws are founded on the phrase of "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness" You can't have any of that without good health and you can't equally make the pursuit unless health care is applied equally to all.

I think if OBL was still breathing then there would be Democrat photo op pictures with him everywhere. At the very least Danny Glover would have posted onelookingforitallthetime said:I'm sure you will let us know when you find the proof.
I'll use your line: Provide a link. 'Cuz if you know this to be true, it's $50 million from George W. Bush Jr. to you!frasier said:OBL IS DEAD..has been for quiet some time now...
Can you provide a link that proofs he is alive..or any other proof for that matter?Gyaos said:I'll use your line: Provide a link. 'Cuz if you know this to be true, it's $50 million from George W. Bush Jr. to you!
In other news, MM was issued a subpoena to appear, but was not indicted? Appear where? Who issued it 4 real, Fred Thompson or Dr. Phil?
Gyaos Baltar.
This statement is absurd on so many levels that it deservesfrasier said:The insistence of the left of making OBL in to an outlaw that has defied the big bad USA is comical...
Then explain to me why some here spend hours bashing the US and Bush, but spend almost no time on condemming AQ and OBL?...further the constant "Hope" and insistent that the "mythcal figure" of OBL has defied the USA in an almost Mythical Outlaw style way here on this board speaks volumes about where some priorities lie. The silent unspoken admiration of him is comicaldanmand said:This statement is absurd on so many levels that it deserves

There is no point in complaining about a terrorist like OBL. Why waste time stating the utterly obvious? And that "silent unspoken admiration" you're dreaming about is silent and unspoken precisely because nobody here admires him in the slightest. Apart from a relatively small number of Muslim extremists, the whole world hates OBL. But nobody can find him or figure out what he's up to or even confirm that he's still alive so what exactly can we say about him that hasn't already been said? OBL is bad, mean, nasty and so on? Terrorists are all bad, mean & nasty too? Did I leave anything out?frasier said:Then explain to me why some here spend hours bashing the US and Bush, but spend almost no time on condemming AQ and OBL?...further the constant "Hope" and insistent that the "mythcal figure" of OBL has defied the USA in an almost Mythical Outlaw style way here on this board speaks volumes about where some priorities lie. I, like most everyone else, don't know if OBL is dead or alive. Since you are the one making claims of his demise, the onus is on you to provide the proof.frasier said:Can you provide a link that proofs he is alive..or any other proof for that matter?
I suspect you're sensative to this because your man Bush, who went over to catch him, dropped the ball. In your mind if OBL is dead, this will somehow validate the nonsense of the past 5 years.frasier said:The insistence of the left of making OBL in to an outlaw that has defied the big bad USA is comical..
Amen to that.frasier said:the guy is a punk may he rot in hell...
I will assume I'm one of the more balanced people you were referring to.frasier said:I find it interesting that the more balanced people here take offense to my post.
I had neither one of you on my mind when posting this?
The issue of the mess in Iraq has been beaten to death here..I am still looking for a post where the left here come out and condems the terrorists in Iraq killing 1000's.
Instead, although somewhat justified, pages and pages have been spend on condeming the USA..I find that telling.
