55% completion rate in a league that wants 70%
Doesn't run the offence as called which gets his coaches fired.
Will make everyone else's job harder as they will be constantly asked about how horrible what Vick did was and how they feel playing for him.
Hiring him would be a bad decision off the field and a worse decision on it.
Oakland will sign him eventually.
Vick got Reeves fired? Are you sure about that?
Let me break it down for you. In 2002, the falcons had an 8-game undefeated streak in the middle of that season, they went to the playoffs and beat GB @ Lambeau handing the Packers their first home playoff loss ever at Lambeau. Oh and yeah Michael Vick was superman in that game in case you have forgotten. Then they lost to Philly in the next round. But all in all a good season considering that was Vick's first full year as a starter and he gets to the playoffs and wins @ Lambeau.
2003 - Vick injures his fibula in the Baltimore game in the preseason. He missed 12 games, the first game back was against Carolina. By that time the Falcons were 2-10 and out of the picture. But Michael Vick on that Sunday Night Football game against Carolina (his first game coming back from the injury on Sunday Night football with Mike Patrick , Paul Maguire and Joe Theisman). Vick had a fantastic game in that game, his first game back. Oh and the Falcons went 3-1 to close out the season in the 4 games Vick played that season.
Then Dan Reeves was fired. So what did Vick do to get Reeves fired? Nothing. That decision had nothing to do with Vicks performance. I was a Dan Reeves fan and Vick would have thrived under Reeves had they kept him but the owner Arthur Blank wanted to go in a different direction. Your assertion that Vick got Reeves fired is laughable.
Now, lets move on to Jim Mora Jr.
Vick never had any receivers, they traded for Peerless Price and he was a complete bust and was too soft to block in the run-game. He had a stud TE in Crumpler but no other stud targets in the passing game. Granted he did have Roddy White but the O-line wasnt as good back then as it is now and White was still young. Jim Mora Jr. and him and Greg Knapp brought in the zone-blocking scheme that Denver is famous for and the Falcons became a run heavy team that was one of the best ground teams in the nfl with the DVD backfield but was near the bottom of the league in the passing game. There is a combination of factors at work. Yes Vick's accuracy is an issue but lets not pin the woes of the Falcons passing game all on Vick. Vick got sacked way too much for a guy with his elusiveness, the pass-pro wasnt exactly that good back then b/c the O-linemen they had were very small. They were one of the smallest group of O-linemen in the league. As a result pass-pro suffered. And like I mentioned he never had any stud receivers.
I'm a die hard Falcons fan , have been so for the better part of 2 decades. Vick did not get his coaches fired. Period. I hope the Seahawks fans are happy with their new man Jim Mora. I am glad he got fired from Atlanta quite frankly.
