Did I spell that wrong. I see he is pleading guilty and as the Associated Press reported, trying to make his way back into football. I spent yesterday emailing every newspaper, the NFL and some of its sponsors, letting them know my feelings on this. I am not a big NFL fan, but any sport that allows this scum bag to play is a sport thats dignity lies below wrestling. And thats giving wrestling a bad name. I saw his picture in the paper, with his stats on passing etc. I didn't see the one on the number of innocent dogs he killed for his pleasure and money. Is the NFL just out for money no matter where it comes from. Wow, so are some murderers. Whats the difference?????

If you actually did spend time doing what you say you are a bigger tool then vick is for even wasting your time.

Why is Michael Vick ostensibly being held to a different, somewhat arbitrary set of standards than anyone else in sports and in life?

The only difference is it hit the media big time...because of who he is.....why would that shock you?


They didnt reinvent the laws for this guy.

If anyone else was caught doing what he was doing...Running some brutal illegal dog fighting operation on a relatively large scale.... choking dogs and electrocuting them to death...shooting them, hanging them...their ass would be grass same way. Even if a "nobody" did it it would still hit the media and they would still be shit creek.

I disagree, based on previous league punishments for what I consider for equally bad or worse past precedent off-field behaviour.

Oh i see it... Theres nothing to figure out...I just don't agree.

Regular people may face the same ramifications given the dynamics and expectations of their profession....Its up to the regulatory board of the profession you belong to and at that point it will all just boil down to someone/group of key people's opinion.

So we can battle this out all day...but its all just a matter of opinion...I have mine and you have yours. When it comes to something like that it all boils down to what someone in a key position thinks....and they have the right to make the decision that they arrive to....they dont owe MV anything.

I don't think Michael Vick is being held to a harder test than anyone else. I think in entertainment, sports and sometimes the police, we as a society have lowered the bar. A cop has a badge and gun and is entrusted to being someone safe for society to look up to. So are people in entertainment and sports. Many people in sports and entertainment say that they are not people to be looked up to. This is usually after they have made their millions and are set for life. If you choose to be in the public eye, you are accountable. If you don't like that move on and do something else. If you accept the cheque, then you accept the conditions.
