Mike Danton has pleaded guilty to conspiracy to committ murder and will probably receive a sentence of no less than seven years in jaill. This whole situation makes me very sick to my stomach. All that Sheldon Kennedy fought against has been in vain. The powers that be have once again turned a blind eye to the slimy underbelly of our national game.
Danton (Mike Jefferson) will be convicted in attempting to have his agent murdered. It may seem clear cut except that his agent Dave Frost is a base thugh who preys on teenage boys. Nor is his father Mr Jefferson without blame. He wasn't diligent in looking after his son's best interest. He bought Dave Frosts's bill of goods and turned a blind eye until it was too late. If Mike Danton wants nothing to do with him, can you blame him?
Also, Danton made it to the NHL as a grinder/enforcer. I dont mind watching grown men on skates beat each other to a bloody pulp, but there's something inherently creepy about watching teenage boys bust each other's faces. For that reason I dont attend OHL games. It's most likely that these skill challenged players are the most vulnerable to a predator like Dave Frost.
