Your government wants you to be afraid to defend yourself, they want the population in perpetual victimization mode.
You are correct.

Okay, aside from the situation where someone is running away and shooting back at the same time - and ask yourself if that would ever actually happen! - give me a circumstance where you could shoot someone in the back and claim self defence?
If i was bleeding out or at risk of unconsciousness and I knew if |I passed out he would finish me off

He turned around and looked at me funny.

Five bad guys went to his home intent on mayhem. Thankfully, he had a gun and managed to kill one of the intruders. Three run away and one was arrested. Why the hell was he charged in the first place??? Only in Canada.
I believe it had something to do with the DEI agenda which is poisonous policy.

I think he must have had a few too many Coors light's when he fed you that baloney.

The police consider if there is enough evidence of a crime for them to recommend the person be charged. If so, the police send a report and witness statements to the prosecutor's office (called Crown counsel). The prosecutor reviews the material and decides whether to approve (or lay) charges against the person.
Not in Ontario, but I do believe that is the case in B.C.

I think somewhere down the line we will hear more about the guy who defended the house. I doubt he was a random target, could be, but I think something made the place a target. He was right to defend his house and the bad guy got what he deserve. But it isn't legal to carry a firearm around in your car like in the US. This guy may end up being target later.

Take aways?
Not sure what if any firearms related charges may have been laid, and if so what happened, what current status is.

Incident occurred late February.

5 months later murder charge withdrawn.
5 months being victimized twice
5 months losing sleep wondering what might happen.
5 months worth of defense lawyer bills

Sounds about right. Lucky for him, the Crown realized virtually no chance of conviction. Then slinks away.

The what?!....

You mean, as opposed to the fact that the policy is to charge a killer until a senior Crown reviews the evidence and agrees that self defence is justified in the case?
