Britain can and should do much more to protect the autonomy of Hong Kong. Right now the protesters are getting little or no support from the West. I'm certain the Hong Kong Chinese would greatly appreciate all the support they can get from the "white man".

Britain has its' plate full and cannot help themselves let along their former colonies that they raped and plundered. The UK model was based on colonial exploitation and work well, extremely well for them for a time. Brexit or no Brexit is extremely ominous for the the UK going forward, The UK government is on the ropes and is in no shape to take on Beijing or even risk angering the PRC.

If you want to discuss racial views, you might be surprised that many Chinese feel themselves superior to Europeans (having created a literate society long before we did). They may want support from rights respecting nations but it has nothing to do with being white.
