So, you are proposing a roof over every stadium or just a portable roof to use for games you are going to watch?
Either one is fine as long as games can be played on time and in dry conditions. After all, we play ice hockey under a roof, unless they decide not to.

That's because the surface we play hockey on , cce , requires as close to ideal conditions in order to exist,(even in Canada it's not always cold enough ) thus necessitating and indoor facility.

Baseball is traditionally played on grass , grass requires an outdoor environment in order to grow and be healthy , they tried grass in an indoors in Houston years ago, the grass died, they ended up playing on dirt for awhile until they installed artificial turf, now known as AstroTurf.

Hello, anybody still following the World Series?

First game is on Wednesday. Rangers vs Cardinals. I'll take the Cardinals because they have a smarter manager and I think they are the "home" team.

After having done a tour of Detroit, Cleveland and Pittsburgh stadiums this summer, it is clear to me that baseball is meant to be played outdoors. It feels so much better then at the Rogers Centre for example.

PNC Park in Pittsburgh is an amazing ballpark.

I think baseball should start the season about a month earlier, and have northern teams without indoor facilities play on the road for the first month of the season. Then play the playoffs in September.
