anyone have a modded Xbox ?

is the Xbox worth modding ?

I know some mod chips have a switch to turn off and on so you can use Xbox live.

I have a modded PS2. Cost me about 60 bucks. I burn my own games and it only costs me $1 and that goes toward buying a blank cd. If you ask me, it's worth it.

The XBOX is well worth modding. You'll regret you didn't do it the day after you bought it. You can rent games, rip them to the HD (you should get a larger HD as well), or FTP the games to your computer and burn them on DVD (or just download them and burn them). It also plays DVD movies.
I have the hard mod (chip) on mine. The soft mod (software mod program) is just not as stable and user friendly but the new soft mod does allow you to still go live but you still need and account and original games, and is only half the price of the hard mod.

I cant believe I actually bought games for the xbox at one point...basically....you MUST mod your xbox, it turns the box into the ultimate entertainment machine ideal for hanging with the boys and tripping on shrooms, etc....
Basically, you jus rent a game, burn it straight to your xbox.....ill jus let you know u should get the Xecuter 2 lite mod chip, as well as install at least an 80 gig hard drive instead of the 8 gig hard drive for xbox.....in short on my xbox i have about 25 movies, 3000 songs, 40 xbox games, and a combination of about 7000 nintendo.SNES, and genesis games combined, plus a media player thast stores the movies, music videos, pictures, music whatever you can dream of......ive taken the box as a compact entertainment everything to cottages, ski chalets, anywhere

I agree with the last two posters...you're silly if you don't mod your XBox. Its so ridiculously easy to do and worth every penny. I've got a 120gb hard drive in mine and at one point had about 45 games on it, with room to spare.

I just got an XBOX for Christmas and I've been out of the loop for a while in regards to video games. I had no idea you could do this to an XBOX. What do I have to do, and how do I get it done?

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong on this.

Best bet is if you have an Asian buddy, go get it done @ an Asian place ie. Pacific Mall which have several game places and they do the modification as well.

Another good site to check out is www.xbox-scene.com.

As for getting it modded, its gotten to the point where practically anyone can do it themselves. Soldering isn't really required anymore, the newer chips just screw onto the board. Took me about half an hour to put in a chip and bigger hd for a friend.

although it aint that difficult to install, u dont wanna screw anything up if aint sure what ur doing, so jus pay up for installation and save the trouble , then enjoy the wonders of the xbox

now just a matter of what chip ?

the new Xenium Modchip looks like a winner but the new Executer3, not yet released looks impressive.
