Anyone else planning on getting the Monkeypox vaccine?
Hobbying is eligible based on current Toronto public health guidelines.
I have a couple of friends in the gay community who've gotten theirs because it's spreading pretty quickly through the community in the US, so it'll most likely start coming up here soon.

I'm thinking I'll probably take some time out to get it to be safe.

Does public health ask questions before giving you the shot?
If you aren't a member of the gay community will they still give it to you? Meaning if you just want the vaccine shot for personnel health and safety will they give it to you?

They probably will, but they also don't ask too many questions if you say you are in the community.

Frankly, when I got the HPV vaccine, and when I've been to get my regular STI tests done, I usually say that I'm in the gay community with several partners.
I find I'm able to get the 'high risk' testing / vaccine without the stigma of explaining hobbying (at least in the GTA I find that clinics are very accepting of the gay community, while hobbying is still a little stigmatized with some nurses and MDs).

Isn't that rather interesting. We are the new ghey and have passed them on the hierarchy of oppression.

Out of the closets, into paid vagina.
What do we want.
Prostitutes
When do we want them
As often as we can afford.

Like the Covid vaccine they will open it up to more groups based on risk.

It's only available to men who have sex with men at the moment but in the coming weeks that will change.

It seems (after some talk with a Toronto Dr.) that people who do sex work/spend time with sex workers will be high priority but not at the moment.

If you go to a free clinic, Safer Six is a really informed option https://www.safersix.ca/ , you should only have to say you're part of a group who is eligible. Your GP might ask you more questions but they really shouldn't because you do have a right to keep that info private.
