I believe that the Habs are done. Halak played well and determined that Price needed the break I guess. The media put so much blame on the kid. Whatever. It's a shame that Montreal is the only Canadian team left in the playoffs. Not for long though.

Not sure I understand. If the Flyers beat the Habs, they just knocked off the eastern conference media darlings and stanley cup hopefuls... that makes the Flyers something to be reckoned with.

We'll the Flyers aren't making it easy on me...after blowing another two goal lead...but a win is a win and I'll take it.

I have a similar thread over on MERB and it's sure gotten quite over there lately!!!

I know it isn't over yet but I'm hoping the Flyers learned from the Washington series and put the HABS away on Saturday. They should be well rested and ready to go but we'll see.

If you would have told me four years ago I'd be happy to see Bill McCreary as one of the referees, I'd have told you that I thought you were nuts...but he seems to be about as fair as they get for the FLYERS these days. I was actually relieved when he took the ice last night for the Flyers versus HABS game...go figure!!!

The Series Ain't Over Yet …

Nos Canadiens have been playing better than the Flyers … we've just haven't been able to score on Biron.

This won't be over until one team wins four games.

As Coach Carbo said yesterday at his afternoon press conference:

"They (the Flyers) weren't playing as well as we are. As a coach, I've got to be optimistic. I'm not crazy. I'm realistic. I wouldn't be that optimistic if we were playing bad. I have to hit the right button and make them believe they can come back."

"We're down 3-1, but it's not like we're getting 15 shots and no traffic in front. We've had lots of shots. We have to be positive. I believe sincerely, if we can pierce (Biron's) bubble, we can win."

Any word on who is in net tonight for the Habs?
Sat nite.

Anyways, we expect Carbo to play the guessing game again with nose ...errrrr nos habs goalie because we all know it worked verrrrrrrrryyyyyy well last time. ;)

Whoever is in the cage, I hope he gets shelled so the Habs can turn into Hab Nots and disappear.

The People's Choice, eh

Nos Canadiens emerge as Canada's Hockey Team.

According to a Canadian Press Harris/Decima poll released April 28, 40% of Canadians consider the Habs to be Canada's Team. The Toronto Maple Laughs sit second at 24%, with the Flames, Oilers, Canucks and Senators checking in at only 5%.

The Habs' current popularity dwarfs that of last year's Senators, who were anointed Canada's team by only 24% of fans despite the Senators' run all the way to the Stanley Cup Final. As well, 51% of Canadians polled believe that nos Canadiens will win more games than the Maple Laughs over the next decade, while only 21% thought the contrary.

And 96% of TERBites don't care what you post L_H! How's that for a stat?

Seriously, Canadian fans will support whoever is doing best at that given time. And all things being equal, more will support the Leafs than the Habs... or so said 69% of those polled by Environics.

I always love the "we've out played them just look at our shot total"...most of those shots are coming from outside with little to know traffic in front of Biron...with very few rebounds...the FLYERS have not been behind in this series except for the last shot of OT in game one...

The majority of the goals the HABS have scored have been on the Power Play.

The FLYERS play defensive when they are leading (it doesn't always work) but it is their style...if tied or behind they forecheck like crazy, but if they have a lead they play more conservative. They will let you skate with the puck along the outside boards unitl they see an opportunity to get the puck. It is what they did against Washington, and it is what they are doing against Montreal.

as a pens fan I fear playing the flyers more than any other team in the east... even moreso than the rangers. obviously this is 4 games into our series and hindsight is 20/20, but, i did give the rags more respect than what they maybe deserve.

i remember the flyers leading the east for sometime this season.

The Rangers are not going to roll over and die that easy. Look for them to fight tooth and nail and try to prolong their playoff life. It is too early for the Penguins to worry about the Flyers. Better focus on winning one game at a time. ;) On the other hand, the Canadiens have underestimated their playoff opponents. Now they have a mess in their hands.

It would seem a lot of people have underestimated the FLYERS. NOT to make excuses but 21PRO was right when he said the FLYERS were leading the Eastern Conferance for awhile...then they had a whole slew of injuries and went on a 10 game losing streak. At one point the FLYERS were missing 9 starters at the same time...and some of the players that were playing were injured too...I don't know ANY team that would survive that.

Adding Pospal at the trade deadline was a huge help, as that is what kick started Briere...he's been playing extremely well with Prospal and Hartnell, similar to when he was playing along side GAGNE and Hartnell early in the season.

In any case...the FLYERS are now healthy and the only player they are missing is Simon Gagne who started skating again after the FLYERS won Washington series. His concussion symptoms are gone and he's talking about returning to the team...personally I don't expect him to. I'd rather see him wait until next season given the issues he had this year and I'm not sure that bringing a player (even one of GAGNE's ability) back after such a long absence is beneficial to the team, but I guess that's a problem most coaches wouldn't mind having.

It's difficult to say who will win tonight. The Habs seem to be grasping at straws in terms of shaking up the team. I'm glad they are putting Price back in net tonight. I am not a huge Habs fan but I think the kid is very good.

For the HABS fans' sake, I hope hes' not shaky tonight.

They didn't have any confidence in him last game...and now they want him to be their saviour!

They should have put the kid in. Halak played well but the kid needs to redeem himself. A couple of those goals were not even his fault. Maybe the defencemen should move out of the way so he can see the shot.
