Tough loss to Ottawa, still 3 pts away from clinching. Big game on Sat vs the Leafs. Maybe the Leafs can make Hab fans sweat a little more.

Columbus must win their last 3 games in regulation and hope Montreal only gets 1 point, to clinch a playoff spot.

Columbus doesn't necessarily need to win all 3 games in regulation, if Montreal gets 0 points. Any 3 wins would do it for them. But if Montreal gets 1 point, scenario is as per Glam's post above.

Two games left and the Habs still need 2 pts. Are Hab fans nervous? I think The Habs will clinch it vs Chicago.

Not at all, they weren't even supposed to be here...playing games that matter in April. What I am nervous about is how well Demidov takes to the NHL. Gonna find out soon

Thankfully Columbus still has to win both games, so we can back in this way as well.

But if you told me 3 weeks ago that with 2 games to go all we needed was one win, or another team to just lose one game I would have been quite happy.

I don’t think anybody at the beginning of the year had Columbus and Montreal as the final two for the last playoff spot.

Habs got an important 1 pt. still need 1 more point. Columbus must win their last 2 games in regulation and hopes Montreal loses to the Canes in regulation.

Columbus must win both games in regulation. OT or SO wins won't be enough. Montreal will have the second tie breaker ROW.

A few more "outs" is nice, but not getting a win against Chicago is disappointing.

Could now lead to one of those rare situations where a team that is tied pulls its goalie in the final minute of a game.

While Demidov looked good - the Habs overall looked tired.
Not a great effort with the opportunity to clinch.
I agree totally. Many of their best players that got them this far came out flat. The pressure might be getting to some of the younger players and some looked tired.

That would be something to see.

The Habs need to take it to OT vs the Canes. Or just win the game. They control their fate.
