There is a lot of talk about Leafs goalies, but did anyone see the Bruin v Canadiens hi-lights ?
Holy crap, Price could at least look like he is trying. Maybe he is trying ... trying to get traded.
I would have looked better on some of those.

Habs are in big trouble with Price in the nets. He will not amount to anything and long, painful season for Habs fans.

Yeah, I'm not getting good vibes from that situation either. Price looked to have the talent and pedigree but the timing and situation don't seem right for him in Montreal.

It's the PRE SEASON.....
I know, but geez. Could he put a little effort into it. Did you SEE the hi-lights ?
Yes, it is preseason, but it is not like he is Martin Brodeur or coming off a Cup win.

They traded away Huet...thinking Price was ready.

Price's career has not been managed very well thus far. His confidence has been badly shaken. He should have spent more time in Hamilton. However, anyone who has followed Huet's career since leaving the Habs, would not suggest that he was the answer to the problem.

As for Halak, Habs had a choice to make. Pick any two of the following to stay under the cap:

Plekanec, Price, Halak.

They made their choice. I would suggest that to evaluate that choice on the basis of 1 exhibition game is premature.

The league is full of 1 season goalie wonders. Halak's great performance is no guarantee that he is the better goalie. He is 2 years older than Price and has used that time to mature. Let's pick up this discussion in a year.

Very good analysis of the goalie situation here: http://habsloyalist.blogspot.com/2010/09/consequences.html
I just hope her prognosis is wrong and there is still time to turn things around.

Carey Price is still very young and he needs to mature a little. That may well happen. However he kinda reminds me a little of AJ Burnett. "ten million dollar arm, ten cent head". Carey Price has all the physical tools, just needs to work on the game between the ears. I think the Habs made the right choice, Price has way more upside then Halak. They just need to bring it out in him.

BTW, here's hoping they don't as I hate the Habs!!

Price was actually doing ok until he faced the Flyers in the playoffs a few years ago. That goal he allowed where he caught the puck and decided to drop it in front of him where a Flyers was all alone really did a number on his confidence.

At that time Huet was good, don't look at where he is now.
UH...He didn't look that good. http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=47222

In 07/08 with Washinton he played well but was only in 13 games.

Outside of that in 08/09 he had a 2.53 GAA with a .909 save % and last year was about the same.

And this is with the Blackhawks who were a top tier team.

So how exactly do you think that the Habs would be better off with him over price?

The stats just don't back it up.

Well, both have a name that starts with "P". Other than that, I don't see too many similarities. LOL Disco, I think you've been drinking some of that koolaid that Leafs keep passing around.

Why Pogge has been brought into this thread is beyond me. He is no longer with the Leafs and I do not think he is with Montreal.

Ignore Disco.
He is completely off his rocker.
A stereotypical Leaf fan who buys into all the babbling bulls**t

As for Price?
IMHO, he will crash and burn this year.
I do not think he can handle any pressure at all.

Stranger things have happened. However, I think you are wrong. It looks like we will find out soon enough.
