Here, this may help. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slippery_slopeRockslinger said:What else can't we see? What about doing some research on AK-47's? Is that also a no no? What about reading articles on gay rights? Where does censorship stop?
No, you're being kind. I'm doing a lousy job of trying to imitate an angry Black man. I'll never pull it off. Damn, damn, damn.Hangman said:No, you're doing good. You just need to be more subtle...
Nope, but I would sure as hell sick the fashion police on you!Rockslinger said:The only "nudity" was a woman's breasts on a PC monitor. I was properly attired in my usual "Coors Light" baseball cap, "Lottery Winner" t-shirt, old jeans with bulletholes in the bum and knee areas and crocs. What now? Will the morality police also tell me how to dress when I'm in public?
Check my posts in the Political Forum. I use "mullahs" in the context of Iran. I also referred to Iran and mullahs several times in this thread. Yes, the mullahs in Iran are murdering thugs who trample on people's human rights like shutting down their access to the Internet and beating women who peacfully demonstrate for equal rights. To make you happy, I'll use the term "Iranian Islamic mullahs" but I thought that was already obvious.Hangman said:Man, you're such a racist, casually implying all mullahs are fundamentalist.
Hay!..Don't call Lisa crazy, her post lately have been amazingly coherent and very insightfully.Keep it up Honey!!!!!Garrett said:When the only person who agrees with you is crazy Lisa, it may be time to rethink your arguments.
As long as the censorship stems from free introspection and not fear at the reactions your expression would have provoked.Censorship and morality come from within.
You sir (or madame) are an intelligent and rational person. As I mentioned, I spoke to a lady at the library's HQ and she said that they take the issue of censorship very seriously and their policy is to prohibit only illegal material. She also said that each patron's privacy rights should be respected. For example, I sometime do my banking using a library computer and I certaintly don't want someone looking over my shoulder.luckyjackson said:He should have the right to view whatever legal material he wants to in a public library. The holier than thou attitude of someone who'd dare to approach him and tell him to stop, makes my blood boil.
So you're saying the library should install partitions so creeps can go in and surf porn for free without being bothered by others, should they provide paper towels too?luckyjackson said:I sympathize with Rockslinger. Having said that, one would hope that we could maintain a certain degree of discretion and consideration for others. It's a fact that libraries are open and public places where kids and more conservative minded folk also have a right to be. The Library's considering partitions to protect the privacy of all their patrons is a sensible solution.
Wrong, we should censor ourselves and stop complaining when others have to do it for us when we're wrong.buttercup said:Censorship and morality come from within?!?
Balderdash!!
Morality comes from within. But censorship doesn't exist unless it is imposed on you, by force, by government.
