O.K. I have tried Mozilla, and I like the no pop up feature.

There a things that I like and things that I don't, but I am getting used to it.

Last night it asked me to upload an update so I did, but know I can't use it...I have an error message:

XML Parsing Error: Undefined Entity

Location:chrome://browser/content/browser/.xul

What do I do?

I am glad I kept my IE.

Or I would be screwed right now.

It sounds as if you had a beta or pre-release version and the upgrade didn't like it.

Search in C:\Documents and Settings\user\Application Data\Mozilla (where user is the user account that you are logged into Windows with) for directories called "chrome". Delete any that you find and try Mozilla again.

If that doesn't work then run mozilla.exe with the parameter -profilemanager. This will bring up the Mozilla profile manager. Delete the default profile and create a new one. Make sure you backup your bookmark.html file if you want to save your bookmarks.

I tried to do what you said, and I have screwed it up even more.

So I am now uninstalling it, before it drives me insane.

I still use Mozilla version 1.3, and have no problems with it. Just remove it and put it back in, it should work or try 'Firefox' another Mozilla type browser that's been getting great reviews lately.

However, Opera browser is still my first choice.

Any chance you could give me a download link for Opera?

I would like to try it.

Thanks,

Here are my thoughts about updates. If it is working the way you like it, Don't mess with it! I don't do updates unless it is very clear what the update will do for me and I have time and knowledge to fix potiential problems. Sorry about the rant

Everyone says Mozilla is better than sliced bread and it is super fast. I honestly do not really notice a speed increase, and IE with SP2 does a great job of pop up blocking. Plus IE is always supprted on websites unlike Mozilla. Are people just using Mozilla because they h8 bill gates?

Mozilla is a nice browser, Firefox, another Mozilla browser is reported to be faster. Netscape used to be very popular and also was based on the Mozilla code. IE does work with everything on the web for the most part but IE also lets lots of other junk onto your PC, both good and bad junk. If you want a fast browser get Opera. I have used several browsers and Opera has always been noticeably faster than the others, which is the reason I like it best. I use IE only as a last resort since Opera and Mozilla work on 95% of the websites 'and drop no junk on my PC.' The few times I've been forced to use IE, 'I always have to clean my PC afterwards cleaning out the junk dumped onto it that IE allows in.'

I prefer Firefox over Mozilla. If you need a mail client as well with Mozilla then i suggest you download Thunderbird from the Mozilla.org site also.

I downloaded Opera and if you ask me there are too many advertisements. The browsing window is too small, I am going to re-install mozilla.

Thanks,

?????
I don't have those problems at all.
Opera has a built in pop-up blocker.
There is only one banner ad at the top which can easily be eliminated by hitting the 'F11' key on your keyboard thereby going into the 'full screen' mode.
This full screen mode enlarges the browsing window fully to the size of your monitor.

I just pressed the F11 key and yes it does get rid of the advertising, but the window is still smaller than IE or Mozilla.

Opera does have a better look to it, but it is still too small for me.

Well to each there own but there are a couple other reasons I like Opera best besides it being the fastest browser out.

Opera has quite a few neat keyboard features not found on other browsers.
For all web pictures, you can easily zoom in or out, just by hitting your + and - keys on your numeric calculator.

Another neat feature is say you are mulitasking with several pages being held on your lower taskbar and you hit a dead link on the web that freezes your brower causing you to shut it down and restart the browser. With Opera when you re-open it Opera says it realizes you had a problem recently and remembers where you were before that problem. It then asks you if you want to go back to where you were when it last froze, complete with those same several pages on the taskbar that you were working on the last session.
