It's an Indian / Srilankan supermarket. I'm not being racist but it is the most disgusting supermarket I've seen. you may alraedy know a lot of Chinese supermarket smells bad from raw fish and meat, but this Indian supermarket is 10x worse! God! it's like I can smell the stanch from outside. When you step inside, the putrescent odour shoots up my nostril, immediately followed by reflex urge to vomit and diziness. I could not stay inside for more than 10 seconds had to run outside. Since it was the closest food store to my house and my car broke down. I needed to get some onions. the produce section are FULL of flies and bugs crawling around! Geez! Does this not violate some kind of health safety standard? Should I complain?

I think you just did. But it might be more effective if you do so at City Hall. It sounds like they are in violation of health codes.
vermin are not allowed in food stores. Contact public health. Don't mention the fact that it is a "ethnic" store or that you did not like the smell. Simply say that there were lots of bugs.
Go in and tell them their store stinks and you will improve the smell and do a.................

Get a few hundred live toads and frogs and let them loose in the store, that should get rid of the bugs

You already are aren't you? But uselessly to TERB. If you see bugs, call out to the staff in a loud voice and ask for the manager. You won't be returning anyway, what do you care if she doesn't listen and tells you to leave? Then, if you're not satisfied with her response, move on to the City Health Department. Or start with them, if you're shy about confrontation.
But do something about it. Don't be another 'don't give a shit if someone gets sick or dies as long as it isn't me'. Because next time, it could be you.
