anywhere I hang my hat
Does anyone know how to erase the memorized search questions that pop up while keying in your search info? I just realized that they are sticky and could lead to some embarassement if the wife happens to notice.

I'm sure that many other TERBites are unaware of this issue.

It sounds like that the in-line Auto complete box is checked in the internet options (assuming windows IE)

You can turn it off by unchecking them in the internet options

I hope this helps

I don't want to state the obvious, but you should also delete your history after every use and empty your cache too. And keep an eye on your cookies as well!

When is a cookie not a treat?

When it is in your computer.

Cookies are used to track you
plain and simple, they hold info.

You need to not only delete them but look in you C:\windows\cookies, folder and you will find even more of them.

Now some of these control you atuo logins, such as used here. And others and not so cool.

Delete them all and shut off auto anything.

Deleting cookies, cache and temp. internet files and history did not help me ( I have IE 5 ). I went into tools/internet options/content/auto complete and unchecked the "web address" box. Now I am safe. Hopes this helps.

It's been said before, but it's worth repeating:

It is much easier to just not use internet explorer for any private web surfing.

Just install one of the other, smaller web browsers. I'm a fan of Opera.

No more pop-ups (you can turn off javascript) quick access to proxy settings, in-page graphic zooming, tabbed browser windows and so on.

I just make a point of not leaving an icon for it on my desktop ;)
