Cape Breton is an island. It is probably one of the nicest sceneries in all of Eastern Canada. I would pre-book Bed&Breakfasts. You got to tour all around the island, take in some Ceilighs.

btw, i am not an east coaster.

It's "b'y", not "bye".
Cape Breton, BTW, is also well known for its traditional music.
Enjoy the people, the scenery, the music, and the "craic" as the Irish say.
It's pretty laid-back. Don't go for the drinking and the partying. That's what Halifax is for.

Well, you can take in a Rita MacNeil concert for fun. :D

Actually, there are not a lot of happenin' places in Cape Breton, at least not by Toronto standards. There is however a lot of nice places and scenery to take in. The Cabot Trail is spectacular. If you are looking to party, stick to Halifax.

Don't even think of Sydney as a party place. Well maybe now with the labour day weekend and the university kids. But there is no district to party in Downtown Sydney. Cpaebreton like mention is just a Japer of the east.

a 1 player is correct

halifax has 25000 students mainly foreigners. You can't go wrong there. I was there last week and school hasn't even started. Some bars were wild ( cops showed up) others had line ups and other were empty.

The HUB in dartmouth (if it's still there) has a cheap steaknight, wednesdays. Fills with poontang. Cheap beer...lots and lots of pretty girls.

Yep - Halifax and Dartmouth are the party places in Nova Scotia.
Nowhere else comes close.
