this happened in Hamilton too
this happened in Hamilton a few years ago. It was no big deal, the girls just took what-ever name you gave them as correct and went on with business as usual.
Eventually the girls stopped asking and the whole thing died.
IN the mean time . . . guys be sure you have a name, address and DOB straight in your head before you are asked.

Alright I have legal training; I looked over clause 11.6 for you.
Clause 11 deals with the Escort Service (agency) or the person operating said Escort Service. Escort attendants are dealt with seperately under Clause 9. Drivers are under clause 10.
So clause 11.6 only regulates the agency, and thus only the agency or person operating the agency is required to keep the customer lists.

there is also a clause under the escort driver section telling drivers specifically to retain all client info for 12 months.
there is section under escort attendant telling all escorts to retain and furnish upon request the info on clients also.
i was too lazy to go thru the whole thing and site every clause relating to the retention & provision of client info.

"Every person required to be licenced under this bylaw shall maintain a comprehensive and up to date register of clientele, detailing the clients legal name, current residential address, current mailing address, date of birth and contact telephone numbers. Such a register shall be made available to a municipal law enforcement officer, police officer, or any other duly appointed individual at any time."

I don't know. It does seem extreme. Presumably the city's lawyers advised them on the legality of the new requirments. But, this question is out of my league.feminista said:

I do have a lawyer now and he says the by-law clearly breaches privacy legislation.
I encourage any clients of any Barrie based escorts to complain to the privacy commission.
