As an aside the new King cars run as far as dufferin as a rule. Then turn back. Good 'ol Bombardier! We have about 10% of the ordered amount.
Yeah, but....

What the city never mentions is that when they specified their desires in the new street cars, there had never been one like it in the world engineered.

1. Must be 100' long, but also must be able to turn on the City's existing trackage where turning radiuses are VERY tight. (I believe, but could be wrong, a 30' radius.) Unheard of for streets cars this long. The old street cars are 15 m long.

2. All of TTC track switches use a single point set up. I.e. only one rail moves. (Normal is both rails move.) Makes turning that much more difficult. TTC did not and does not want to change all of its switches to a modern standard, so they made it Bombardier's problem.

3. Low floors for ease of access.

4. Must use TTC's rather antiquated power delivery system.

My understanding is that points 1 and 2 were major engineering hurdles for Bombardier to overcome. As usual, the beancounters never listen to the Engineers and the politicians will bray away about how BBD has dropped the ball whenever the public asks WTF is going on. BBD, however, wisely keeps its mouth shut.

Add in the additional stress of the cost to manufacture, dealing with union nonsense where everything is double time and it's a miracle they are getting built at all.

I suggest taking a guided walking tour. Haunted Walk, Muddy York, and Tour Guys are 3 companies that offer these tours.

Might like to try the Gay Ghetto on Church. Sometimes you see one or more bare breasted maiden

Do not, repeat, do not go to the Island. It is flooded.

Question: How is Times Square and 42nd Street in 2017? I use to love the sleazy fleshpots there in the 1990's. Do they still have the peep shows (probably not)?

It is Disneyland only without the fun and tons of homeless (our mayor is a total nightmare), the last peep show is about to close as the owner just recently passed. I moved to NYC in the mid 80's wow so much has changed. I work in Time Sq. and honestly I try to not even leave my office only take the subway in an out to work and then leave, I hate it now. I actually live uptown now where I would not dare have walked in broad daylight when I first got here, so there is good with the bad as well.

Yeah, it was already changing by the late 1990's. I still have a few tokens from Peepland. I was surprised on my first visit there that you could actually put your hand through the window because there was no barrier. We all need a bit of sleaze and smut in our lives. Was almost mugged twice. Can't mention the race of the culprits, PC you know.

Thanks, btw is Nexus different than my TSAPre/Global Entry?
NEXUS is the Canadian version of Global Entry. Is cheaper but the end result is the same. I think they use the same machines but not sure since I am only Nexus. It is also harder to get to a Nexus interview since mostly only in Canada vs Global entry available easier in the U.S. without having to go to Canada for the interview. A few border States have nexus interviews but rare an usually long wait.

With just a passport you have to do the interview with the guy/gal in a booth and often long lines to get to them.

Thanks Butler1000, I am a non-drinker and hence Strip Clubs are not really all that appealing anyway
I am also and known for my "Diet Coke or Pepsi" orders. Water is also usually an option. Some clubs require you buy at least one drink, others don't

Beware of dancers who just sit and talk in the VIP. Normally, that is chargeable time unless agreed otherwise.

Definitely. Some dancers want me to stay longer off the clock since like my massage but am careful it's not on the clock.
