Lot's of coaching changes in the NFL today.
NE coach canned right after the game.
Jacksonville canned their coach.
Chicago looking for a new coach.
Jets? Will they keep their coach?
Saints? Same as Jets.
Dallas coach has no contract for next year. So who knows what's going threw Jerry's head.

Jim Harbaugh just showed how quickly a great HC can turn around a franchise with a good QB.
Bengals really should have fired Taylor, otherwise Joe Burrow will just become modern day Dan Marino who never wins the big one.

Interesting to see what Raiders do, I predict they will fire their first year HC.

Both Raiders and Patriots fired their coach after one year , both Black and first time HC, not a good look for NFL.
If I remember correctly, Steve Wilks of Cardinals was also fired after 1 year, black too., several years ago.
I expect some social justice warriors come out in full force soon.

On the other hand, Raiders fired Josh McDaniels after 1.5 years, Urban Meyer fired by Jax after 12 games ? (I think), Nathaniel Hackett of Denver was fired after Year 1. The last two were totally clueless.

I think it has more to do with dysfunctional franchises rather than race. If they were racist I doubt they would have hired them in the first place.

The Bengals canned their defensive co-ordintor today.
3 other Bengal assistant coaches shown the door, including the offensive line co-ordinator. Not surprising, as I think Burrow was one of the most sacked QB in the league this year.

That's the M.O in hockey..FIRE the coach cus the players that the GM signed aren't performing..
Coach's can only work with what's given them
In the NHL..there's only so many schemes you can do
You gotta rely on the players skill level to make things happen.
In the NFL..O/C and D/C think up all sorts of new and weird schemes to get the ball over the GL or to prevent it.

Meyer won three NCAA FBS champiionships, (Florida 2006/ 2008 and Ohio State 2014).

Great College coaches frequently do poorly coaching at the pro level* because they come to expect total blind obedience from their players, which works with unpaid amateurs but not with older men with their own agendas. College players who don't like their coach can transfer, and not play for a year. Pros who don't like their coach stop playing hard until upper management drops the ax.

*Some other examples: Tim Floyd, Rick Pitino in basketball.

College players don't sit out a year after transferring anymore. Plus schools have the NIL now to entice players in the portal.

Green Bay QB coach Tom Clements has retired. Old farts like me will remember him from his CFL playing days in the 70's and 80's. He was one terrific QB. I couldn't believe it when I read he is 71. He had a long and distinguished career as a QB coach in the NFL. I always got a thrill when they would show him and talk about him during a NFL broadcast. A feather in the cap for the CFL.
