If that darned Gary Bettman could just find a few more Gretzkys, Messiers, Kurris, Coffeys, et. al. he'd fix everything!
I don't think these guys would be able to perform in today's game as they did in the 80s, plagued as it is by defensive traps, obstruction, gigantic goaltender equipment, and a rink that is too small for the modern day player.

What's your point?
In the 60's the goal production average was much less than in the 80's. So again I aks you what is your point?

Sorry. Not everyone is sufficiently learned to share the sort of shocking, earth-shattering, never-before-suspected fact with which you opened this thread.

Rerun - don't worry about paycheck. Have you read his posts in the other threads tonight? The guy is obvious on something, drunk, stoned or both. He is out to lunch. Just ignore him.

Just for the record, I had calculated this earlier today and the league average was 5.129 goals per game combined and that is up from aroung the midseason point where it was actually under 5.00.

I personally think this has been a great year for hockey...I mean just look at the standings, in recent memory has either conference had races like these?? And the last 10 games or so are the perfect precursor to the playoffs!
