I will take your word for it blueline. I am quite sure you know the team much better than I do. I follow the Canadiens quite closely, but I don't know the other teams so well. It sounds like you have been dealing with a frustrating situation and a losing team for quite some time.
I'll have you know that it pains me to speak well about the Habs and admit they are a good team. :p

I have seen the Bruins lose many a play-off series to these guys. Too bad they didn't get a couple more cups with Orr, Espo, etc., but they could never beat one Ken Dryden (1971 comes to mind) and the Canadiens. They had a nice run there in the eighties when they finally could beat them, but it was a short run.

The NHL was hoping for that too but Carolina blew it for them. Refs even handed the game to Pittsburgh (over the Flyers) the other and would have done the same today had Carolina not come up lame.

The refs tried to help Carolina Friday night, as Carolina had 9 power plays to Florida's 0 but couldn't pull out a win!!!

So here are the possibilities:

Montreal plays Boston
NJ plays NYR - home ice decided today between the two teams...
Pittsburgh will play either Philadelphia or Ottawa
Washington will play either Ottawa or Philadelphia

Pittsburgh versus Philadelphia today to determin if Pittsburgh will face Philadelphia or Ottawa in the opener.

Philadelphia will be a very tough team to beat as the only injury they have now is Gagne (who pretty much missed the entire season). Both Hatcher (skated yesterday after recovering from a broken leg) and Briere (knee sprain)are expected back in time for round one.

Philly dominated NJ on Friday and will look to punish Pittsburgh today if nothing more than to send a message... The real question is...does Pittsburgh play Crosby today... or do they sit him out so as not to let him get hurt. Pittsburgh got away with a lot of dirty hits on Wednesday night including a knee to knee hit by Ruutu on Briere, Not to mention Gonchar's butt end to the Hartnell's face, niether of which were called...

Unfortunately in the past two games, THE PRICE IS NOT RIGHT. The Habs rookie goalie looked so ordinary in the past two games. It makes the opposing Philly goalie Biron look so much better and competent. Boston gave the Habs a scare in the first round of playoffs. If Price cannot right himself quickly, the Flyers may be laughing all the way to Conference finals.
