Clearing an air of misunderstanding.

Agreed, I currently live in Waterloo, but also have a place in Yorkville. I go where my work takes me. I needn't say more on that regard. I also am not in dire need of making 'mates' here. This was an opinion based thread, so I gave my opinion. Does anyone disagree and think Cafe Nervosa is a bad suggestion for our friend here? If so, state your case, else quit the personal attacks. I could be Italian and in Waterloo, that might be the case, but then again, I am not. I am one who enjoys great food and a little romance, so in the past, I have often taken dates out to Cafe Nervosa and only received compliments on the choice of venue. I know, I haven't posted much on this site, but I am an educated man and am well versed in handling matters in a mature manner. I do not feel I need to explain myself in that regard. The reason I said 'clueless' is because Sassafraz is honestly black listed by most and only frequented by yuppies. I think that's a reason why people I associate with have black listed it. Agreed, they do have great Jazz nights, and in the summer, on a Sunday, they make a great brunch with a few good beers on tap. Great for going out in large groups or to make an impression on someone who might be quite naive and new to the nouveau riche concept. If anyone of you have been to Cafe Nervosa, you would have to agree, it's the right match for this kind of romantic request. Quiet, discrete, personal, romantic, great food, a fantastic setting...the key here is subtle yet strong. Make sure you make reservations too for the upstairs seating as I would highly recommend that. Respect isn't just given out like candy, it's earned Annalee. An opinion was asked for and it was given. If you feel all opinions are assholes, then I am sorry for you as you seem to be surrounding yourself with assholes or those who find lacking in the intellectual department. Having an opinion, and usually an educated one, is much appreciated, a sign of intellect. Agreed everyone has an opinion, but often enough, opinion based on pop culture, a quote you pick up here or there, does not make you sound intelligent, just makes you come across as arrogant. Not much different from the general attitude of many people nowadays, so don't feel too bad. An opinion based on actual experimentation, going to such places, I have eaten at pretty much every single eatery in Yorkville (I get bored easily), but I always return to Cafe Nervosa and hence it's my personal favorite. An opinion based on experience and actual academic methodology is one to be respected, so if you wish to talk about that, we can. Like I said, respect isn't given away freely, it's earned with me. I am not here in desperation to make friends, though I am sure it will happen with like minded intelligent people who do not subscribe to the general superfluous nature of this board. Petty come backs and random quotes to appear intelligent, I just avoid those, so this is the first and last time I shall defend a statement I have made on this site, and to make it clear, I shall end it here.

No more carefree laughter
Silence ever after
Walking through an empty house, tears in my eyes
Here is where the story ends, this is goodbye

Knowing me, knowing you (ah-haa)
There is nothing we can do
Knowing me, knowing you (ah-haa)
We just have to face it, this time we’re through
(this time we’re through, this time we’re through
This time we’re through, we’re really through)
Breaking up is never easy, I know but I have to go
(I have to go this time
I have to go, this time I know)
Knowing me, knowing you
It’s the best I can do

Mem’ries (mem’ries), good days (good days), bad days (bad days)
They’ll be (they’ll be), with me (with me) always (always)
In these old familiar rooms children would play
Now there’s only emptiness, nothing to say

Knowing me, knowing you (ah-haa)
There is nothing we can do
Knowing me, knowing you (ah-haa)
We just have to face it, this time we’re through
(this time we’re through, this time we’re through
This time we’re through, we’re really through)
Breaking up is never easy, I know but I have to go
(I have to go this time
I have to go, this time I know)
Knowing me, knowing you
It’s the best I can do

don't forget...

...Toni Baloni's - one of the best American Eateries. It's right across from the Alliance and on the same side as Four Seasons.

A lot of posters from the clueless...for a romantic date, there's one place to go, a nice place to go, not overblown, subtle, stylish, classy, great food, great wine, great service and so many places to sit that are each so different catering to different tastes, my recommendation is Cafe Nervosa.
Sassafraz food is far from great, most places around there just come up short in my opinion. I too live in the area. P.S. Pusateri's is a grocery store...that's no place to take your wife!
Trust me, Cafe Nervosa, it's the place to go for you. You can thank me later. I guarantee it.
Hmm. Given the 'class' you've shown, I'll choose to dine with the clueless. They have manners.

ewwwww abba...yuckssssssss
Guess I'm clueless. Thought Abba's great. Love going to wedding receptions for the dancing afterward. Guess, I'm so 80's and 70's...

And I'm not ashamed to say
The roar of guns and cannons almost made me cry
There was something in the air that night
The stars were bright, Fernando...

And who wouldn't enjoy the many cuties that love to flash at receptions. It's getting hot in here!!!

Food at Truffles and Panorama are decent, overprice imo. But serves your wow factor! Remember to bring her handbag.
