I think I can be considered one of the biggest hockey(and Leaf) fans on TERB.
I have a message for all the NHL players, owners and most especially Fehr(a baseball guy) and Bettman(a basketball guy).
GO AWAY !

Don't get the players at all. Everyone makes 6 figures plus and there is the very real possiblity they will lose that money for at least 1 year while half the owners are cutting their losses with the lockout. If the players were to get 50% of the revenues none of them would be going hungry. They keep talking about the billions the league is making but as individuals they will not see a major change to their income no matter what the settlement. They will however, have one less year of earning power. As for the players going to Europe, hope no one get seriously injured, as it sure would be stupid to have a career ending injury and forfeit their North American earning power.
I love Daly's sound bites. He and the NHL (Bettman) offer nothing back in terms of negotiation to the NHLPA. It's all just negative crap about the player's union is not come around to our numbers yet stuff. Bettman and Daly can go fuck each other silly and let someone in who knows the game.

It is November 2nd and there is no end in sight. Looks like the owners will go back to their real businesses and the players will have to dust off their law and medical degrees. No NHL for the rest of 2012.
October is a tough month for the NHL because it is competing with MLB, NFL, etc. After January, the NHL's only competition is the NBA.
sounds like a both sides are stubborn. Power trip. waiting for the other side to make concessions. Billionaires vs millionaires, really who has more to lose. November is gone. I think the seasons over if they can't agree in the next 2-3 weeks.

its official and no surprise, as the NHL lockout drags on, the league has now cancelled the Winter Classic.
What business model have you ever seen employees getting more percentages than the the owners of any business? None! Your a business man you should have more. 50/50 was a great deal,they the NHL SENT TO NHLPA. The players are the ones to blamed for this. Not Bettman. The players before played the game they loved. Todays players are spoiled and don't care anything about them selves. Thats the truth. Bettman has made the nhl a great north american sport.
