Now that I retired I realize it’s a shame that the only thing a person can do for a full day's work is work. You can’t eat all day; you can’t drink all day, you can’t have sex all day. The only thing you can do for a full day is work.

Retirement requires imagination and self discovery. What have you always wanted to do and what makes you happy? For me it’s travel. I retired a couple years ago in my 40s and have been travelling the world for 6 months per year ever since. I would travel for the entire year if it wasn’t for the residency rules. My plan is to knock off one country at a time until 65 when I will have visited most countries. Currently in Malaysia, where I have spent the last month and it is Ramadan which makes it really interesting. I stay at a place until I get bored and I move on. My mindset has completely changed. Before everything would annoy me. Now if someone cuts in front of me, I just let it go. In a few days this guy will be back home in high stress environment and I have the rest of my life to do/go where I want.

Do things you never had the time to learn… a hobby that isn’t this hobby!
Hit the gym, do yoga, go hiking, woodworking, learn a musical instrument, travel, go camping,
build something cool in your yard (pizza oven, outdoor kitchen… ), volunteer… just a few off the top of my head.

Enjoy the peace and quiet of being retired and not having to answer to anyone else but yourself. Ok maybe your wife if you're married. In fact I enjoy doing just that more than I can say but it's different for everyone. And if you wonder what to do, start with doing things on the home front that you never had time for when you were working. And then there's volunteering for any of the many services that rely on volunteers.
All sorts of options, just a matter of finding what works for you, including finding a part time job or going back to your original job on a part-time basis.

sorry, but 99.9% of people are fake. Very few people live genuine lives and are true to themselves. Everyone is afraid to be judged. How many times have you said something you didn’t believe but was something that you thought the other person wanted to hear? I‘ve done it plenty in my career trying to be a “team player’ when deep down inside I thought…man this is so stupid. Even people with serious FU money like celebrities will go on camera and fake cry when they screw up. On the opposite side is someone like Elon who will go on an analyst call, tell the analyst that his question is stupid and move on to the next question.

I really want to be a retiree. But can’t there is no job in that field!
At 83, being retired for 10 years, I play golf during the warm season but got bored in the cold weather so I took up online poker spending about 3 to 4 hours a day. After 5 years I have collected approx. $4,000. It may be boring but I have used some of it by enjoying getting massages, if you know what I mean. LOL.
Be a part time consult in the field you worked.
Learn to cook / bake
Travel
Go to 12 step programs during the day
What most retirees do is the find something that is meaningful to them and then volunteer for the organization that best supports their values. It can be anything:
- church
- hospitals
- be a starter at a golf course, and get to play a few rounds for free
- library
- Board work
- other charities
C'mon it's the time of your life to figure out what's really important to you, and how you spend your days supporting it. The only pressure to do this should come from within, unless you want to spend all day online doom scrolling or gaming.
And leave time for TERB hobbying, of course.

Traders never retire. Once you start trading, you can not stop. It helps if you can win more trades than you lose. The traders that stop are the ones that run out of money in their accounts.
But you can eat, drink, read, exercise and fuck during different times of the day. Not necessarily in that order.
