I know covid is real. Stunned that you think your fear mongeriing is rational.
How did this thread escape the covid section? Must be the lax security measures put in place by China lol
Fear mongering is definitely not bringing attention to a worldwide pandemic that has killed over 900,000 people worldwide in the short span of just over 7 months with preventive measures in place for almost all countries. You simply don't have a clue what fear mongering means.

Here is the context people need.
COVID-19 has so far in Canada claimed 9X more then what we see in a regular flu season (Roughly 1000 deaths/year in Canada), and more context is the 9,000+ number of deaths from COVID-19 was with preventive measures in place. Now if the "Stable Genius" crowd social distanced yourselves, and put your mask on this would be over sooner with fewer deaths.
BTW this summer was great all I did was eat and drink very well, spent a lot of quality time with my family which I hadn't done like this since I was a teenager, laid by my pool all summer long. Too bad we only have another month left of the summer pool weather.
Hopefully the mass hysteria is over by Xmas. The numbers don't justify any of this. 99.8% survival rate, 6% actual covid...
It's the long term health problems from recovery patients that is under reported. Formerly healthy young people, including college age athletes, are reporting now with permanent damage to lungs, heart, and other organs. As well symptoms of stroke recovery, and other neurological problems.
And as people move indoors, schools open, house parties happen, and complacency grows so will the cases.
I'm certainly not hysterical over things. I follow simple guidelines of mask, sanitize, handwash, social distance, avoid crowds. I'm still going to work, taking transit. But seeing the aftermath no way do I risk myself, my extended family, by not taking precautions.
Happy they did. Hope they don't get reinfected. Glad their genes helped. But there are no guarantees whose will and won't.

That information you just posted is false. India alone had over 95,000 confirmed cases today is that what you mean by mass hysteria?
Where are you getting 99.8% survival rate other than as anecdotal evidence from Humpty Dumpty Trumpty, alt Right news or social media sources?

Roughly 3% death rate not taking into account the underreported number of cases or the underreported number of deaths, and these numbers of deaths and cases we have seen are with preventive measures in place, if these measures weren't in place both of these numbers would be exponentially higher.
As well a lot of people who are exposed to the Coronavirus will have ongoing health issues as has been confirmed in so many cases and so many in very healthy people some athletes, so at the moment we might have roughly 97% survival rate but these long term health issues could lead to numerous people's deaths down the road.
Actually the CDC estimate(fluctuating and constantly adjusted) is between 0.3 - 0.65
I wouldn't be so sure. I was struck today how many people are wearing masks outside while dog walking, mowing their lawns, etc. In other words, in the circumstances where they're 100% safe from the infection. Never underestimate human fear and stupidity.
Yes well aware of CDC's estimate and that might come true in the USA when it's all said and done, and taken into account both the underreported number of cases and the underreported number of deaths, but at the moment the USA rate is as I stated. As 99.8% survival rate number even taking into consideration CDC's estimate would be an incorrect statement.
The number that has been estimated by others worldwide is 1% death rate which when taking into account the fact that this virus is very contagious is a very high number of deaths. Now if you're fine with any of those numbers put some of your older loved ones on the crossfires of the virus and let's see how they can cope.

My providers took a break for health reasons. Might be tempted by a deal or unusal event (twins, pregant sp, scarlet Johnson or Bella Thonre giving sping a try, return of Leo/Dominque) but in a holding partern with both the new laws and the pandemic and price points on the rise. The Brass Rail incident comes to mind. But I am in the groups that need to be careful.
