NY Times re: BackPage.com - "it’s like going back to slave times."

Not to start any beef or anything, but...

I often use these sites as comparisons when a man complains about my requested donations. If a girl is posting for anything under 200, my eyebrows raise. And under 100? I can see why *some* guys would choose that route, but it screams red flag to me. My favorite reply from some folks has been such as "Nice try, bitch! I can get a girl way hotter than you for $50 an hour!"

The sex trade industry can't benefit if there is no demand for it, fellas...

I'm not sure you can force BP to stop taking on business through advertising. Where do you draw the line? Any site that promotes escorts, will be attractive to pimps and the like. How about actually going after pimps instead?

A product or service is only as valuable as the price someone else is willing to pay for it. If a girl posts a price under $200, and she attracts customers, she is a successful, professional escort.

It would be nice to be able to link quality of service to a price, but in the escort industry that's just not possible. You don't always get what you pay for, as this site has shown us time and again.

If I were looking for an escort, budget would be a consideration, along with reviews and menu. There are plenty of well-reviewed escorts who charge less than $200/hr, and I have purchased some quality items at clearance sales. The only difference is that I can compare specs objectively with appliances and furniture...escorts are often ymmv and subjectively reviewed.

Offer me a satisfaction guarantee or warranty and you might be able to defend high price=quality in this industry.

(forgot to add that human trafficking is a completely separate issue from this...not cool to sell people for sex or anything else)
