I agree once and done !!

of course .. interestingly Led Zepplin never really had a "number one" hit, but they eked out a meager living...

New Radicals You Get What You Give
Till Tuesday Voices Carry
Berlin Take My Breathe Away ( appearantly still making musicis just not popular among the masses)
Chumbawumba Tubthumping (they were big in the underground music scence before that and the fan base saw it as a sell out)

...Berlin had others "hits" (again, depending on how you interpt the word). Indeed...amongst fans (and many others) they were far more notorious for a song that proceeded "Take My Breath Away"....a song tilted simply "Sex".

Who the fuck said The Cult was a one hit wonder? Are you on drugs?
The Cult still has a ... err... cult following that would make any band jealous.
I still listen to the cassette when I want to hear some good old rock.

Next thing I know you guys are going to tell me that The Happy Mondays, Dead Kennedies, Pet Shop Boys, OMD, New Order and Depeche Mode were all one hit wonders. LOL BTW.. I never liked Depressed Mode..err Depeche Mode. Something about his voice made me want to poke my ears out. LOL

The bottomline is this - no, Hammer never again had a song as big as 'Can't Touch This". But your calling him a "one hit wonder" was WAY off base, and in your rush to characterize him as such you got your information wrong.
I didn't call him a one hit wonder, Hammerstein did. My argument was showcasing more singles and hits he had. Your argument is claiming what I wrote as hits, wasn't good enough for you and should have said was bigger. Get lost.

As usual, you can't read. In fact Hammerstein has been posting many bands in this thread who are not one-hit wonders, like 'Til Tuesday, Berlin, MC Hammer and others. MLAM, just stay on the politics board. You're wrong there too. LOL ;)

For ruck:
The Cult only had one (1) pop-hit crossover: "She Sells Sanctuary". They had many hits in AOR (Album Oriented Rock) and are still cool today! "One Hit Wonders" is usually a term of songs that made America's Top 40 with Casey Casum, or anywhere near there.

And the sign said
Long hair freaky people
Need not apply
So I tucked my hair up
Under my hat and
Went in to ask 'em why...

Back in the day... I had long curly hair 6 inches past my shoulders. Always wore ripped up jeans, rock 'n roll T's and construction boots. I remember working as a carny listening to this song on my little 9 transistor radio... wondering if that was my life's lot to work as a carny all my life. Did I go out and get a haircut? NOT. :p

Boston's debut album "Boston"
......Boston's follow up album...."Don't Look Back", went platinum 7x over, and had a hit single "Don't Look Back". And then 8 years later they released 'Third Stage" which contain the hit "We're Ready", my favorite Boston song, and "Amanda", which actually was a #1 song in the USA...

Man....you guys are some TOUGH critics...band has a number single after their debut album, but they are "one hit wonders"...lol

Bill Murray was great in that movie, when he was teaching the squad to drill.

For a full month after JFK was assassinated, the irritating "Dominique" by the Singing Nun was #1 on Billboard, then she never charted again.

Coincidence?
I think not.

The Warren Commission made no mention of her, it's obvious that there was a coverup at the highest level of US government that has never been disclosed to this day.
