Having been totally burned by the review system within months of starting out, my policy is that NO reviews of my service ever be posted anywhere on a public forum.
Nothing like having a nutbar you've never met review a session that never happened to put you off the concept for life.
What does that mean for the decent guys who check out review boards? They'll never see me, because I "don't have any reviews, so I must be some kind of a problem".
And that's how a review board becomes useless to an SP and hundreds of TERB members and potential clients when just one person among thousands of members takes it upon themselves to use the system maliciously.
Without reviews, I may not have nearly as much business as I should at this point in time, but on the other hand, I'm not a sitting duck for the intellectually and ethically challenged.
And as my good rep does get around by word of mouth and the odd PM, I have the joy of knowing that I did it on my terms, and that my business and reputation does not hang on the word of someone who may be disturbed or simply rude.
So, yeah, I understand SPs having concerns about their public reviews. Like it or not, review boards have an inherent flaw in that they put immense power in the hands of those who can, at will, virtually destroy your livelihood in a few paragraphs.
