Campy cheese.

The original BG was a "fluff" piece. It portrayed the Cylons like a bunch of keystone cops who would be easily bamboozled by the "individuality" of the humans. The human characters were pure caricatures: 1) ladykiller cowboy (Starbuck), 2) flawless father figure (Adamo), 3) straight shooter (Apollo), 4) hooker with a heart of gold (Cassiopea), 5) traitor trying to save his own skin (Baltar), etc, etc. For goodness sake, Boxey (the kid) even had a fluffy mechanical pet!

The new series is exactly 19.43 times better.

I received the DVD of the entire Buck Rogers series...BG isn't as much cheese as Buck and Twikie, but its still pretty cheesy.

Haven't seen the new one, but looks a lot darker.
