I really don't believe Trump made it 'easier'...

http://www.wnd.com/2016/11/mayor-calls-michelle-obama-ape-in-heels/

...the ilk of a racist is such that it doesn't matter who the President is or will be. The above link is absolutely disgraceful.

The mayor of Clay, West Virginia, resigned her position Tuesday after seemingly approving of a colleague’s comment on Facebook that referred to Michelle Obama as an “Ape in heels.”

The original post was made Monday by Pamela Ramsey Taylor, director of the Clay County Development Corp., who was opining on the transition from Mrs. Obama to Melania Trump as first lady.

“It will be so refreshing to have a classy, beautiful, dignified First Lady back in the White House,” Taylor wrote. “I’m tired of seeing a Ape in heels.”

According to WSAZ-TV, Mayor Beverly Whaling then replied, “Just made my day Pam.”

Should President Trump try to prosecute Hillary? Sign the hottest petition in America now to show your support!

The story went viral, and both women removed their comments as well as their Facebook pages as claims of racism flooded the town. More than 150,000 people signed an Internet petition pushing for Whaling to be fired.

Whaling has since issued a statement to the media, saying:

“My comment was not intended to be racist at all. I was referring to my day being made for change in the White House! I am truly sorry for any hard feeling this may have caused! Those who know me know that I’m not of any way racist!”

“Again, I would like to apologize for this getting out of hand!”

I love it how she denies she is not a racist.

It amazes me how people continue to deny they are racist, or what they did was not racist, just misunderstood.

Maybe she thinks Michelle is big and hairy? Okay, most likely she's in the same category as European soccer fans who throw bananas at black players.

Maybe, eh?

Here's another one just came out.

A man who was going to launch a new coffee shop posted lots of very racist things on facebook. One of the messages is cited in the video. He then got lots of hate mail and threats to boycott his yet-to-open coffee shop.

Knowing that he would lose money, he apologized and said he is not a racist.

Edit: Holy shit. I just watched the whole video, and sure enough you what else the guy said? What every racist says.

"Some of my best friends are black."

This is the universal motto of racists to shield themselves from accusations of racism. It's pathetic.

This is it. For the past decade+ people have been cautious about expressing racist opinions in public. That has changed with the way the campaign went and the vocal support Trump received. For the alt-right Trump winning serves as an endorsement of their views.

Though I laugh at the description of 'disenfranchised white populace' when compared to minority populations
I don't think the amount of racist opinions or actions has changed. We just know about these events the instant that they happen. On one hand, blacks, whites, Latinos, Asians, and whatever other labels we want to apply to people are right to be frustrated. The perception is that jobs are scarce and moving overseas, education, housing and basic necessities like food are becoming more expensive. That does not excuse one group going after another.

I think people need to wake the fuck up.

Trump has nothing to do with what happened. I hate that guy and everything he did to become president. But he won.

Racism is alive and well. It's my opinion that many people underestimate how much racism there still is in North America.

There are racists who supported Trump. But Trump didn't make them that way. They were like that before his campaign.
but Trump made Steve Bannon one of his most powerful aides.

Some of the alt-right wish to be back in the 1800's but the rest of us (and the Democratic Party) have moved forward since then
