Mentalists are experts at reading body languages and faces. They can pick up extremely subtle changes, and the helps them make these "readings." Who remembers that TV show called the Mentalist about 15 years or so ago?
He admits it is all a trick. He uses actual magic tricks and reads people and he explains them .

What's more amazing is that you watched the View.
And way back in time there was The Amazing Kreskin who also was a mentalist and had a TV show on CTV from 1972-1975.
