Its even worst if you have reflux , it takes longer for your stomach to empty and you get more heartburn. My friend didn't lose weight either. But its like viagra when it came out, they lower the price with time.
I wish that were the case. The price of trulicity has either stayed the same or gone up slightly over the six years I have been taking it. No generic means that they keep the price up. Viagra price was threatened with the generics. Sad to hear about reflux. It is a pain.
It actually goes beyond that when you think of things in terms of demand and supply. Novo is in the process of converting some of their facilities away from producing regular insulin (Novolin) so that they can make more Ozempic, putting pressure on Novolin availability, especially in some export markets where it is sold for less. This in turn has had a snowball effect on demand for insulin from Lily and Sanofi. Lily also has a product to compete with Ozempic which is supposed to be better, so this might actually get worse before it gets better.
My understanding is that it works by decreasing your appetite. You won't feel as hungry as often and therefore will eat less often and consume lesser amounts.
The problem is there are people that will eat even when they aren't hungry. They still overeat for other reasons, probably most of which are psychological and could be a reason why some people don't lose.
Which brings me back to a statement in the original post where they say that once you start Ozempic you are on it for life otherwise you will put the weight back on.
This may be true for certain physiological conditions, but most weight problems are behavioural in nature. If a person knows how to change his lifestyle he will not have to stay on the meds. The meds are simply a crutch.

If you bought after the commercial that information is already priced in by sharper and more informed minds than you and me.
I actually stumbled upon this stock in October of last year after being subjected to endless commercials on whatever drivel I was watching on TV. I thought to myself. "there might be a buck to be made at this". Every commercial on tv seems to push a new drug for whatever unheard of ailment (to me)that financially is flourishing. Knowing the little I know about the worldwide obesity epidemic, it seemed like a no brainer when the words ozempic and wegovy were drummed into my feeble skull. Now it's going to shit. Warren Buffet I'm not.

Bottom line is Ozempic is a great drug for diabetics. Forget about weight loss, it is a secondary medication. Would you prefer to stab yourself twice a day with insulin or ONCE A WEEK WITH OZEMPIC.
I'm of the opinion that any medication that can control blood sugar should be of minimal charge to patients. Maybe covered for low income people...It will save money in the long run.
