Pandemic savings vs Income lost

So, we are over a year with this pandemic and I am sure everyone has had enough of it.
My question is, did you manage to save money by not indulging in visiting SP’s ?

i know I have but the unfortunate part, the SP’s were hit with a lost income.
While some of us have benefited by this as we had a source of income, these independent business providers lost out without any government help.

Actually gained income with the stimulus money, but it's all gone to keep a roof over our head - literally...

I don't see many SP's to begin with,but strip club is a different story.
With strip clubs being closed I have saved a ton of cash. I have learned I really don't miss going.

I think this will happen with a lot of guys. They will have found they don’t really need to go as frequently. There will always be new ones that join the hobby but for some, COVID killed their run.

Seeing SPs has always been, at most, a once or twice per year pleasure for me. Even before the pandemic began, I had not hobbied in nearly three years.

I have, however, saved a shit-load of cash because I've not indulged in several other expensive vices and pleasures that I would regularly partake in such as:

- Drinking in pubs three to four times per week. I've only had a few drinks in 14 months

- Travelling 2 to 3 times per year to Europe or the Caribbean or across Canada

- Buying clothes. Working from home and not attending work-related meetings or gatherings and not leaving my apartment much means there's been no point upgrading my wardrobe. I've gone from spending $200 to $1,000 per month on clothing to virtually spending nothing.

Saved a lot from no hobbying, not going out much, not dining out much, bought a lot of equipment table saw, was able to do my hardwood flooring, hardwood stairs, extending my deck, bought 2 mountain bikes...hanging out with my kids more...didn't know Plants vs. Zombies is legit fun...
