Haven't been there in awhile, I found the city overwhelming - especially the traffic.

I got a job at a pizza shop on the Rue de Ecoles while I was there, I stayed in a dive and ate meals that weren't French $$$$$. One monument that stood out for was the Augustin Rodin Museum. He was a late 19th Century sculptor who worked primarily with bronze. His two most famous works are The Thinker and The Gates of Hell. The later he fashioned after viewing The Gates of Paradise by Ghiberti at the Forence Baptistry. The song Sadeness was inspired by Rodin's masterpiece, having stood in front of The Gates of Hell, the song clicked with me immediately.

I absolutely loved Paris. Wandered around the opera house and walked down the cobblestone street to the spot (approximately) where Marie Antoinette was beheaded. Very cool the idea that history happened right on that street I was walking. My evenings were spent wandering around the Place Pigalle area with all the bars and ladies of the evening. ;)
