So what? What about the people who live in the Neighborhood?
If they have no driveway, they must park on their street, right?
So 10am is a reasonable time allow for everyone getting to work, and then the students can park.
Two hours? Again reasonable. What about the business in the area? Should not a customer be allowed to park, shop ( Spend money) and then leave.
What do the students do for the neighborhood but clog up the streets.
In fact, Students are just the excact group that public transit is good for.
They come downtown...stay a full or half day...and then go home.
Why would they need a car?
Now, as you said, You were working on a site. Probably you need tools, equipment, the opportunity to Hit Home depot for supplies...etc.
Why should you be inconvienenced while working?
If the students were dicouraged from parking..then life would be easier for tradesmen, salesmen, courriers...
Dude, I never said anything about the rules being unreasonable, I used that as an example of how much money the city rakes in via parking infractions.

Something many don't understand and bash students about, they assist in driving the economy. They buy cars (and all the associated products associated with maintenance etc), they buy food at local shops, they purchase goods at stores around the schools, and yes, they (should) pay the parking tickets. But like almost every other building downtown, Seneca didn't provide or construct enough parking for students and faculty.

As the fact that they should take transit, the same argument goes for everyone yet why don't more people take it? A) because it blows dead donkey dicks b) it's expensive (maybe not as much as parking tickets but...) c) it is extremely inconvient (if one lives in north mississauga it takes 2 hrs plus to get into the city via transit).

My example of how much cash the city rakes in in this one area still applies. Now multiply that by the number of 6 square blocks in the core, and I bet they are raking in close to a quarter to half a million a day in parking fines. WHich is why I bet you'll soon see one meter maid per block.

I parked in front of my own house yesterday to unload some crap, and I come out after like two minutes and get a $60 ticket. Fucking ridiculous. There should be 2-5 minute parking graces for loading and unloading.
This same thing happened to me quite a few years ago in front of my own house. I sent my fine in, but I also sent a complaint letter along with it, explaining the situation. The City sent my cheque back, saying they would offer leniency this time but don't do it again.

so far, out of state (US) vehicles they cant handle, got ticket(s) never so far any follow up. it will probably change, (the way it looks, may be imprisoned on the spot)....

Actually once a parking fine guy, non lenient re stopping, told me this, when I was in disbilief he suggested not to pay until I get a notice....this was 2 yrs ago, but more recent 2-3 month ago tickets also were not followed up yet.

I've plead not guilty to all my parking tickets over the past couple of years and I haven't got one court date yet. It can't be luck cause I just don't have much of that but it kinda looks to me as if the city just takes what they can get from those who are paying their tickets and letting off those who are pleading not guilty. Wild guess but maybe it cost them more to fight it ie: court room, judges, clerks and the ticketers time off the road.

Was not really student bashing. However when I was in High School, On school ground parking was banned for students. They parked all over, and I mean with Total Disregard for the Neighbours, which in turn caused wide spread dislike for the school, and a downward spiral of bad PR.

If you have your own street overrun, EVERY DAY, with rude parkers, you get a bit pissed at the thought of "the poor students" ( who are rich enough to drive) who try to park for free, when they could Just go down to the Green P lot.
Sorry, I got no problem with the city making money from on street parking.
