The only person I know thats survived pancreatic cancer is Ronnie Hawkins.
He supposedly took some herbs prescribed by some Indian medicine doctor (no joke)

Sometimes I wonder if chemo doesnt do more damage than good

no one survives pancreatic cancer. its just a matter of time. pancreatic tumors VERY commonly present late with advanced tumor growth. more than 80% are surgically unresectable when they present, which is pretty much a death sentence.

Steve Jobs has stepped down as CEO of Apple, he's not doing so well.
Steve Jobs has not stepped down as CEO. He is taking a 6 month leave of absence from Apple, at least, for day to day activities. He is still actively involved in Apple's major decisions and strategic planning.

His illness is not necessarily attributed to the form of Pancreatic cancer that he had surgery for several years ago (apparently, he is cured of the cancer), although nobody can be certain that the illness is not actually linked. They say that he has some kind of condition that is preventing his body from extracting nutrients from the food he consumes, and he has been looking thin for some time now.

The formal announcement was that it was a 6 month leave, and most expect to see him back at the helm by late June. Whether or not he is getting better or is actually cured is anybody's guess, and I'm sure if you were privy to the knowledge, you'd be able to profit on it by playing the market! Steve Jobs is Apple, and if they announce that he's not returning, the stock will take a hit. On the other hand, if he comes back on stage with an extra 20 or 30 lbs of weight and is totally healthy, the stock will rise.

I for one hope that he's doing well, as I'm a big fan of Jobs and what he's accomplished.

Time will tell.....

reports of him being a chain smoker are unsubstantiated.

It is likely just bad press...

Swayze admitted to Barbara Walters he's a heavy smoker.

Dead Man Walking - and I'm a cancer survivor; 29 years ago in March. My oncologist's son, an only child, died of pancreatic cancer. His Father did the exam and knew right away his son was dead in a few months. Swayze's gone soon too.

Unfortunately, I think Muse is correct.

I did not look at the photo. No reason to look. I did hear on the radio a few days ago that his weight has dropped to 105lbs.

My mother came from a big family (8 kids). Within the same year, 2 of her siblings passed away from cancer (one of them smoked) and one is ill. It's a horrible desease.

Nothing like a death watch to sell papers......

From what I have read, he was/is a good guy, family man, long marriage, good father.

My aunt had pancreatic cancer....six weeks from diagnosis to death. Horrible.
