i had to reformat my PC b/c of a virus............

i do not have sound right now, how can i get my sound back?

Plug in the speakers and turn up the volume

if you have more than one sound card, you may have to select the correct one.

Sometimes I find that dial up modems can conflict with sound cards.

Device manager
Uninstall sound card

Restart PC and reinstall


There is an off chance you need to motherboard software to activate it.
Som all in one cards will do that to you

yeah i had a virus..... "msxmidi.exe" was its name.....killed everything..... it even killed my network card/driver........ so i had to hook my net via a USB...... so no Dial up hahahah


i think i will just buy a ne PC...

Original PC should have come with a software disk for the motherboard

on it you will finds drivers for all intergrated components. Very often the sound card, 10/100 IO and even the VGA are built into the motherboard.

Using the OEM disk for that board should restore necessary drivers.
