I disagree. Nothing gets people more emotional than abuse towards a child. Even my most liberal friends who strongly oppose the death penalty are willing to look the other way when it comes to a child molester/killer.

Well some topics are emotional when dissussing a thread on viscious rapes,murders ,illnesses,etc.. where are the boundries ? We as adults can be proactive for children issues ........last time i did a reality check there were lots of underage children in the sex industry in the world ...lots of children being sexually abused by family friends and strangers .....So isnt it nice to say this board doesnt support thast kind of abuse and even share some education .on the topic ? Its very easy to turn this into a positive rather then not deal with it at all .

Children can not consent... on that same W5 show one of the Toronto Cops that go after pedofiles said he had to watch on tape the anal rape of a male 18 month old for three and a half minutes. He said he will never forget it, I don't think I will ever forget him recounting it.

My every hour for the rest of my life is different because of a pedofile. My ex was raped as a child, thirty years ago and still can't get over it. It ended our relationship, so the lady i wanted to spend the rest of my life with is unavailable in big part, by a son of a bitch.

Sticking ours heads in the sand it will not stop this horrible pain that is more pervasive in our society then we fear it to be.

wefare organizations that take children away from families also place "some "children in homes where theres more sexual abuse ..we have a long way to go when it comes to protection for children

Well true I'm hetero and have managed to not to rape a ladiy so far.... so what if rape was a sexual preference you were born with what would the law say about that?

The law says your preference is secondary to other people's rights to safety of person and property.

What you want is irrelevant, it is how you act that the law deals with ( or is supposed to, we have some badly written ones that blur that line. )

The only way to excuse actions that violate the law is to be unaware of right or wrong and the consequneces of you actions - which applies mostly to small children or people with the mental age of small children, or by way of insanity such that the person didn't know what they were doing, or had no control of their actions... However in that case the person is criminally insane and is incarcerated until such time as they are deemed cured, which can be the rest of the person's life as some people have never been cured.
