Dude go easy on the hate.

I was being serious, didnt that Clay Aiken guy and the black guy win together????
I havent been following the show till recently so its a legit question.
What they both won together were lucrative contracts with Clive Davis, there can only be one idol because it's based on votes from viewers and the chances of being a tie......, well I think I have a better chance to win this Saturday's $30,000,000 lottery.:)

Don't mind spode, esco. He takes this AI thing very seriously.
Thanks for watching my back homonger. That Esco can be unruly and unreasonable at times what with all the...well that's another story for another time.

Now more importantly tonights show.

My opinion was there was two standout performances tonight 3 if you include the commercial for the dvd release of the family stone featuring Maxine Nightingale's Right back where we started from.

Chris' version of Mama was outstanding if you omit the beginning. Sounded awesome. Second song was rather a strange choice and not very appealing.

Taylor had the other great performance of the night. With Something in the way she moves. Very touching and I know exactly what song I'll be singing to my next girlfriend during our weekly karoake nights. Should get me some dfk. I melted when I watched him do that song especially when he did that little move during the lyrics "something in the way she moves" the second time. Nice

Katherine let me down. Didn't enjoy either performance and the first song no one mentioned she fucked up the lyrics and it threw her off. Simon was being kind.

Paris was alright but may go.

And uncle ernie aka Elliot...I liked the first song Nights on broadway. Remember last year when George Benson was on AI and sang that song with some contestant. Wasn't as good as George's but hey I like the song.

Hey Esco SUCK IT!

Dammit! I TIVO'd the show, but didn't think to watch Kat in slo-mo. And now I have deleted it. What was I thinking???
LOL... Ryan Seacrest is reading this board. Did you hear him telling Katharine that guys were replaying her wardrobe malfunction on TIVO?

Spode, if you're going to review at least get the song titles correct. ;)

Chris's first song was Renegade originally by Styx. I liked it but hated his second one which he basically just screamed through.

The song is called "Something" and it was the worst version of this song I have ever heard. He screwed up the last verse by forgetting the lyrics of one of the lines. The judges didn't even mention it but you could see the look of panic on his face at the moment.

The verse is supposed to go:

Something in the way she knows,
And all I have to do is think of her.
Something in the things she shows me.
I don't wanna leave her now.
You know I believe and how.

He sang:

Something in the way she knows,
And all I have to do is think of her.
Something in the way she nee..., (look of panic) knows
I don't wanna leave her now.
You know I believe and how.

And uncle ernie aka Elliot...I liked the first song Nights on broadway.
"Nights on Broadway" was a song by the Bee Gees and Elliott didn't sing this one. He did "On Broadway" which was a hit by the Drifters.

Personally I thought all of Katharine, Elliott, Chris and Taylor had one good effort and one ranging from so-so to terrible effort. Paris was good on both of her songs. I thought the best effort of the night though was Katharine's "Black Horse and the Cherry Tree. Why she sang it on her knees though is odd but not quite as odd as Taylor finishing his "Play That Funky Music" while lying on his back. Really strange.

I would send Taylor home but for some odd reason he is still the most popular of the five.

You`re wrong here. It was a good version and I totally missed the goofup because I was enjoying his version. IMO Radiohead did the worst version of the song.

Paris will be waving bye bye this week...Slight chance of Elliot leaving first.

Paris
then Elliot
then Taylor
Then Chris and Idol is Kat
I thought Kat is the most popular according to those stats given

I never heard the Radiohead version so Taylor's is still the worst I've heard.

Yup, Paris will likely go but she shouldn't be.

All kidding aside who else has done a version of this song. I love it.

I missed the post show post, and by now, we all know that Paris was voted off. I did not think she was the worst performer two nights ago, I personally would have booted Elliott. Not because he was bad necessarily, but he just kinda bores me. Paris is just more fun, even though I grant she can be annoying. But she's gone now, so what do I know?

I thought Kat's "Black Horse and the Cherry Tree" was an inspired song selection, and the best performance of the night. I was worried that Kat was getting too boring, but that was a fun, flirty, contemporary performance. I would so like to do her.

Elvis night on Idol. I think it is tough to do Elvis without sounding like bad karaoke, but that said, I thought tonight's show was entertaining.

Taylor was, well, Taylor. A goofy rendition of 'Jailhouse Rock' which was not unentertaining. Then he mellowed out a bit with 'In the Ghetto' to balance things out, so I'd say he did what he had to do. I think Taylor is very popular, so I would be surprised if he goes anywhere.

Chris was solid. I liked his 'Suspicious Minds' a lot, and I thought he was okay with 'A Little Less Conversation'. He stays too.

Elliott hit a home run with his second song, although his first song kind of bored me. He needed a great performance and he may have gotten it.

Kat was clearly out of her element. You had to figure she was going to struggle with Elvis week, and she did. She is just not a strong uptempo singer, so 'Hound Dog' was probably not the best choice. She could have redeemed herself with 'Can't Help Falling in Love' but she oversang it. For the first time in a while, I am truly worried about her. Her only hope is that America keeps her around as the token girl.

If Kat doesn't go, then the odd man out is probably Elliott, even though he doesn't deserve it.

Anywhere there's a Strip Joint
Chris is gone.....

See, some of you didn't want to listen.....just too many weeks of those "play it safe" songs, caught up to him. He doesn't have much of a vocal range, if he gets a recording contract expect another band similar to Nickelback etc.

To think some of you thought he was going all the way  .
