I mean, this isn't a shock. PP picked arguably the safest conservative seat in the country to run. Didn't the dude who stepped down get like 90% of the vote?

Though, I will admit, it would have been hilarious if he lost again...
Yes, the guy who won the seat in April had 83% of the vote, PP got 80%. Not a major slip by any means, but it shows 3% more voters wanted the previous MP over Poilievre. Winning this seat was nothing short of a sure thing, but it won't help much come January when PP is up for leadership review.

PP has fairly strong support within the party as an organisation, but not with voters, and that could spell trouble for him.

Also, after PP lipped off about how there needs to be term limits set to two terms for MPs. He served seven terms in Carleton and has just started a new one in Alberta. Being an MP is pretty much the only job PP has ever had and he's 46 years old.
I would say 4 terms for MP, and 12 years max as PM. Senators should have 8 years and much smaller pension.

In last April’s general election Damien Kurek received 53864 votes. PeePee received 40548 by-election votes. Looks like a lot of Battle River Crowfoot Conservatives stayed at home.

you should be more concerned about the trade football that Carney has fumbled after selling himself as the man to get a deal with Trump
investment dollars continue to depart Canada

no incumbent does well in a recession

who will be rabbit the liberals pull out of the hat when voters determine we have exchanged a corrupt camera ready fool for a slick talking salesman who can not deliver

By elections typically have a lower turnout. Also the independent who won almost 10% of the vote was centre right leaning.

Pardon my cynicism, but I am extremely incredulous about that claim. It's like expecting your husband to change after you caught him shagging the pool boy...for the fifth time 🤷‍♂️

you might consider firing the pool boy since he is obviously a willing participant (5X) in your husbands homosexual infidelity
it sounds like the pool boy is a catcher rather than a thrower
obviously the homosexual infidelity has made you jealous and feeling betrayed (however not butt hurt, since you have been replaced)

perhaps hire a pool girl
